The best golf launch monitor depends on where it will live and how you want to play: a simulator room, the range, or both. Jay Lasco, host of Golf Simulator Videos, has filmed the launch monitors below, in GSV's basement studio, in the garage and at the range. This guide picks the best for each use, from a $599.99 radar unit to a $16,999 ceiling unit, with the makers' own list prices, the room each one needs, what each costs per year in software, and GSV's codes.
Codes first: GSV5OFF takes 5% off a first order at Shop Indoor Golf, which sells most of the launch monitors here. GSVMEVO takes 5% off the Mevo Gen 2 at FlightScope, GSVSQUARE takes 5% off at Square Golf, and GSV's SkyTrak link applies GOLFSIMULATORVIDEOS. Every code is on the golf simulator discount codes page.

|---|---|---|
| A dedicated simulator room | Uneekor EYE XO2, $10,999 | Jay's daily driver: the biggest Uneekor zone, trouble mats and impact video |
| Value, indoors and out | FlightScope Mevo Gen 2, $1,299 | Radar and camera together, no subscription |
| Under $1,000, indoors | Square Golf HE, $699 | Camera beside the ball, ball and club data, no subscription |
| Under $1,000, the range too | Garmin R10, $599.99 | Pocket radar for the range and the simulator |
| A camera unit under $2,000 | Square Golf OMNI, $1,599 | Four cameras, any ball, indoors and out, no subscription |
| On the ceiling, for the money | ProTee VX, $6,500 | No stickers, no subscription, both hands |
| On the ceiling, a low room | Trackman iO, from $13,995 | Trackman's software from an 8 ft 10 in ceiling |
| No PC at all | Garmin R50, $4,999.99 | Its own screen, computer and courses |
| The full club data, the range and the room | Foresight GCQuad, $15,999 | Four cameras beside the ball, the reference in GSV's accuracy tests |
Prices are the makers' own list prices as GSV read them in October 2026, before tax, shipping and codes. Shops run sales, so the GSV link and code is the way to the price on the day.
The three kinds of launch monitor
Where a launch monitor sits decides most of the room. Radar units sit behind the ball and need depth, camera units sit beside the ball and add none, and ceiling units hang overhead and need height.
| Kind | Where it sits and what the room needs | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Radar, behind the ball | 6 to 8 ft behind the tee, so the room needs depth. Best for the range as well as the room. | Garmin R10, Mevo Gen 2 (radar and camera), Rapsodo MLM2PRO and MLM2XPRO |
| Camera, beside the ball | On the floor beside the hitting area, adding no depth. A left-handed golfer moves it to the other side. | Square Golf, Foresight GC2, GC3 and GCQuad, Uneekor EYE MINI, SkyTrak ST MAX, Garmin R50 |
| Camera, on the ceiling | Over the hitting area, needing about 9 to 10 ft of ceiling. Nothing on the floor, and both hands play. | ProTee VX, Uneekor EYE XO and EYE XO2, Trackman iO, Foresight Falcon |

The golf simulator room size calculator checks every launch monitor against your width, depth and ceiling at once, and the GSV Sim Builder puts the one you pick in your room in 3D.
Best launch monitor for a golf simulator room
For a room built for golf, the launch monitor that never moves can be the best one: on the ceiling, or on the floor beside the ball with club data from cameras.
Uneekor EYE XO2, $10,999: Jay's daily driver
The EYE XO2 is the launch monitor Jay plays on every day in GSV's basement studio. It hangs from the ceiling with three high-speed cameras over a 28 x 21 in hitting zone, the largest Uneekor makes, works with Uneekor's rough and bunker mats, and records high-speed video of the club and ball through impact on every shot. Uneekor's CEO told Jay the EYE XO2 was designed for the bigger zone and the trouble mats, not for more accuracy than the EYE XO.
- Good at: a zone wide enough for right and left-handed golfers to tee up anywhere, trouble mats and impact video.
- Watch for: a 9 to 10 ft mount, and Uneekor's Pro plan, $199 a year, for GSPro and other third-party software.
- Code: GSV5OFF takes 5% off at Shop Indoor Golf. See the EYE XO2 in your room.
Against the other top units: EYE XO2 vs Trackman iO, EYE XO2 vs GCQuad and ProTee VX vs EYE XO2.
Foresight GCQuad, $15,999: the full club data, indoors and out
The GCQuad reads the ball and the club with four high-speed cameras from the floor beside the ball, indoors or outdoors on a swappable battery, and gives face angle, loft, lie and impact location on top of the GC3's club data. GSV has used it as the reference in accuracy tests, such as its MLM2PRO driver test. The QuadMAX, $19,999, is Foresight's newer step up. GSPro needs Foresight+ Gold, $599 a year, or an eligible FSX Play or FSX 2020 license.
Every Foresight unit, from the $1,699 GC2 to the Falcon, and Foresight's software are on GSV's Foresight golf simulator page. See the GCQuad in your room.
Best value launch monitor: FlightScope Mevo Gen 2, $1,299
The Mevo Gen 2 combines radar with a camera, FlightScope's Fusion Tracking, and is FlightScope's newer home unit after the Mevo+. It sits behind the ball: Jay's minimum indoors is 7 ft from the ball to the unit and 8 ft from the ball to the screen, with 10 ft to the screen ideal. FlightScope charges no subscription for its app or for the connections to GSPro, E6 Connect and Awesome Golf. The Pro Package adds club path, face angle and the rest of the club data, and can be added later.
- Good at: the range and the room with one unit, no yearly fee, and a free GSPro connection (GSPro itself is $250 a year from GSPro).
- Watch for: the depth a unit behind the ball needs, and the Pro Package for full club data.
- Code: GSVMEVO takes 5% off at FlightScope, which made a $1,299 Mevo Gen 2 $1,234.05 at checkout. See it behind the ball in your room.

Best launch monitor under $1,000
Under $1,000 one question decides it: will the launch monitor stay in the room, or go to the range too?
Indoors: Square Golf HE, $699
The Square Golf Home Edition is a camera unit that sits on the mat beside the ball, so it adds nothing to the depth of the room, and it reads ball and club data with Square Golf's patterned balls and a club marker. Square Golf lists no subscription for its data or for its GSPro connection. Its manual asks for a room with little to no sunlight, so it is an indoor unit. GSVSQUARE takes 5% off: $664.05.
The range and the room: Garmin R10, $599.99
The Garmin Approach R10 is a pocket-size radar that goes to the range and runs a simulator at home. Garmin puts it 6 to 8 ft behind the tee with the tee at least 8 ft from the net or screen, so in a room 14 ft wide with a 10 ft ceiling the GSV Sim Builder needs at least 15 ft 6 in of depth for a 5 ft 9 in golfer. GSPro lists it as officially supported. Home Tee Hero course play needs a Garmin Golf membership, $99.99 a year.
Also under $1,000: the Rapsodo MLM2PRO, $699.99, and the MLM2XPRO, $899.99, which adds putting. All four are compared in the best launch monitors under $1,000, with the Garmin R10 review, the Rapsodo MLM2PRO review and MLM2XPRO vs MLM2PRO.
Launch monitors under $1,000

- Garmin Approach R105% off at Shop Indoor Golf with code GSV5OFF.First-time buyers only, one use. Not valid on a standalone Trackman, the Square Golf launch monitor or the ProTee VX.
- Rapsodo MLM2PRO5% off at Shop Indoor Golf with code GSV5OFF, first-time buyers.
- Rapsodo MLM2XPRO5% off at Shop Indoor Golf with code GSV5OFF, first-time buyers.
Best camera launch monitors under $2,000
Camera tracking used to start well above $2,000. In 2026 three camera units sit under it, each beside the ball:
- Square Golf OMNI, $1,599. Four cameras read any ball with no markings, indoors and outdoors on real turf, with ball and club data, a display on the unit and no subscription. GSVSQUARE takes 5% off. See the Square Golf OMNI review and Square Golf HE vs OMNI.
- Foresight GC2, $1,699. Foresight's new two-camera unit, launched in October 2026, gives ball data only, with no club data. Courses are Foresight+ plans, and Foresight's own GSPro page leaves the GC2 out. See the Foresight GC2 review.
- Uneekor EYE MINI LITE, $1,999. Uneekor's camera data on the floor for a permanent indoor room, with no marked balls and one face sticker for club data. Uneekor's Pro plan, $199 a year, opens GSPro. See the Uneekor EYE MINI page.
Above them at $2,995 list, the SkyTrak ST MAX runs SkyTrak's own app on a Mac, an iPad or Windows, and fits the shortest rooms. Its course play is a SkyTrak membership.
Camera launch monitors under $3,000
- Square Golf OMNI5% off at Square Golf with code GSVSQUARE.
- Foresight GC25% off at Shop Indoor Golf with code GSV5OFF.First-time buyers only, one use. Not valid on a standalone Trackman, the Square Golf launch monitor or the ProTee VX.
- Uneekor EYE MINI LITE5% off at Shop Indoor Golf with code GSV5OFF, first-time buyers.
- SkyTrak ST MAXGSV code for SkyTrak: GOLFSIMULATORVIDEOS.Applied automatically through the GSV link.
Best launch monitors for the range and the room
A unit that works outdoors earns its price twice. These are the ones the makers list for outdoor use, by GSV's launch monitor finder:
- Radar, behind the ball: Garmin R10, Rapsodo MLM2PRO and MLM2XPRO, FlightScope Mevo Gen 2.
- Camera, beside the ball: Square Golf OMNI, Foresight GC2, GC3 and GCQuad, Uneekor EYE MINI, Garmin R50.
The ceiling units, the Square Golf HE, the EYE MINI LITE and the SkyTrak ST MAX are indoor units. For the range, a camera unit reads the ball where it sits, and a radar unit tracks the flight; indoors, a radar unit sees only the first few feet of flight before the screen, which is why spin axis on some radar units is calculated, not read.
Best overhead launch monitor
A ceiling unit leaves the floor clear, so nothing gets hit and left and right-handed golfers share the bay. The picks, from GSV's best overhead launch monitors guide:
- ProTee VX, $6,500: the best value. It reads any standard white ball with no club stickers, has no subscription, and is on GSPro's list through ProTee's own connector. ProTee says to mount it 9 to 10 ft high. Ask Jay for ProTee VX pricing and packages: it is sold through resellers. See the ProTee VX page.
- Uneekor EYE XO2, $10,999, and the EYE XO, $6,499: Uneekor's ceiling units, with impact video. See the Uneekor golf simulator page.
- Trackman iO, from $13,995: radar with cameras, from a ceiling of 8 ft 10 in by Trackman, then $700 a year for Home or $1,100 for Home Complete. See the Trackman golf simulator page.
- Foresight Falcon, $16,999: four cameras over a 59 x 28 in hitting zone, the largest of the overhead units here. See the Foresight Falcon page.

See the ProTee VX, the Trackman iO or the Falcon on your ceiling in the GSV Sim Builder.
Best all-in-one: Garmin R50, $4,999.99
The Garmin Approach R50 is a launch monitor with its own computer and a 10 in touchscreen. It reads the ball with three cameras from about 1 ft 6 in beside the tee, runs Home Tee Hero on more than 43,000 courses, and sends the picture to a projector over HDMI, with no phone or PC. Home Tee Hero needs a Garmin Golf membership, $99.99 a year, and GSPro has an official R50 connection on a separate Windows PC. See the Garmin R50 review and Garmin R50 vs Bushnell Launch Pro.
Beside the ball, $3,000 to $7,000
- Garmin Approach R505% off at Shop Indoor Golf with code GSV5OFF.First-time buyers only, one use. Not valid on a standalone Trackman, the Square Golf launch monitor or the ProTee VX.
- Bushnell Launch Pro5% off at Shop Indoor Golf with code GSV5OFF, first-time buyers.
- Foresight GC35% off at Shop Indoor Golf with code GSV5OFF, first-time buyers.
Launch monitors with no subscription
A yearly plan can cost more over five years than the difference between two launch monitors. These makers list no subscription for their own data and software, by GSV's finder, read in October 2026:
- Square Golf HE and OMNI: no subscription, including the GSPro connection.
- FlightScope Mevo Gen 2: no subscription for the app or for the GSPro, E6 Connect and Awesome Golf connections. Full club data is the one-time Pro Package.
- ProTee VX: no subscription; ProTee Labs comes with it.
Foresight's units, the GC2 among them, include a Free plan with the range and core data; courses are Foresight+ plans, and GSPro is on Gold for every Foresight unit but the GC2. Garmin's R10 and R50 read their data with no plan, and Home Tee Hero course play is the Garmin Golf membership. GSPro itself is $250 a year from GSPro, whichever launch monitor runs it.
Best launch monitors for GSPro
GSPro keeps its own list of officially supported launch monitors. On it, by GSV's finder: the Square Golf HE and OMNI, the Garmin R10 and R50, the Rapsodo MLM2PRO, the Mevo Gen 2, the Uneekor EYE MINI, EYE MINI LITE and EYE XO2, the ProTee VX, the Bushnell Launch Pro, the Foresight GC3, GCQuad, QuadMAX and Falcon, and GolfJoy's units. Not on it: the Trackman iO, the SkyTrak ST MAX and the TruGolf APOGEE. Each launch monitor's connection and fee is on GSV's GSPro compatible launch monitors page, and the software itself in the GSPro guide.
The most accurate launch monitor
For accuracy GSV uses the Foresight GCQuad as its reference: four cameras read the ball and the club face at impact, and GSV's head-to-head tests put other units next to it. Two things decide accuracy more than the price tag:
- Camera or radar indoors. A camera reads the ball at impact, so a short room does not matter. A radar unit indoors sees only a few feet of flight, so on some units spin axis is calculated. In Jay's 2022 Garmin R10 tests with Titleist RCT balls it read total spin but not spin axis indoors.
- Set up to the maker's numbers. The distance behind the ball for a radar unit, the mounting height for a ceiling unit, and level ground beside the ball for a camera unit.
GSV's accuracy tests on video include the MLM2PRO against a GCQuad and the Garmin R50 driver test on GSPro.
Best launch monitors for left and right-handed golfers
In a home with both, a ceiling unit is the easy answer: the ProTee VX switches hands with no recalibration, the EYE XO2's zone lets either golfer tee up anywhere on the mat, and the Falcon covers both from one mount. A camera unit beside the ball, such as the GC3, the GCQuad or a Square Golf, moves to the other side of the ball for a left-handed golfer, and a radar unit behind the ball works for either.
Will it fit your room?
A launch monitor is only the best if it fits. The GSV Sim Builder places any of these in your room in 3D, swings a golfer of your height, and checks the ceiling, the walls, the depth and the projector. It is free, with no sign-up.
Plan your sim and check it fits
Try one in a room now: Square Golf, Garmin R10, Mevo Gen 2, Square OMNI, Foresight GC2, Garmin R50, EYE XO2 or GCQuad. For a garage, a basement or a low ceiling: the garage guide, the basement guide and golf simulator for a low ceiling.
The launch monitor is one part of the build. The rest: an enclosure or a golf net, a hitting mat, a projector, a computer and software. The cost calculator adds it up, and whole simulators by budget are in the best golf simulators of 2026.

Golf launch monitor questions
What is the best golf launch monitor in 2026?
For a dedicated simulator room, GSV's pick is the Uneekor EYE XO2, $10,999, Jay's daily driver. For value indoors and out it is the FlightScope Mevo Gen 2, $1,299, with no subscription. Under $1,000 it is the Square Golf HE, $699, for indoors, or the Garmin R10, $599.99, for the range too.
What is the best launch monitor for a home golf simulator?
One that fits the room. A ceiling unit such as the Uneekor EYE XO2, the ProTee VX or the Trackman iO leaves the floor clear for both hands; a camera unit beside the ball such as the Square Golf OMNI or the Foresight GCQuad adds no depth; a radar unit behind the ball needs depth: about 15 ft 6 in for a Garmin R10 in a room 14 ft wide. The GSV Sim Builder checks any of them in your room.
What is the best launch monitor under $1,000?
The Square Golf HE, $699, for a simulator that stays indoors: a camera beside the ball with ball and club data and no subscription. The Garmin R10, $599.99, if it goes to the range too. The Rapsodo MLM2PRO, $699.99, and MLM2XPRO, $899.99, are the other two GSV compares.
Which launch monitors have no subscription?
The Square Golf HE and OMNI, the FlightScope Mevo Gen 2 and the ProTee VX list no subscription for their own data and software. Foresight units include a Free plan with the range and core data, with courses and GSPro on Foresight+ plans. GSPro itself is $250 a year from GSPro.
Is a camera or a radar launch monitor better indoors?
A camera unit reads the ball at impact, so a short room does not hurt it. A radar unit indoors sees only a few feet of flight before the screen, so on some units spin axis is calculated rather than read. Radar units shine at the range.
What is the most accurate golf launch monitor?
GSV uses the Foresight GCQuad as its reference in head-to-head tests: four cameras read the ball and the club face at impact. Setup matters as much as price: the distance behind the ball for radar, the mounting height for a ceiling unit and level ground for a camera unit.
Which launch monitors work with GSPro?
On GSPro's list of officially supported units, by GSV's finder: the Square Golf HE and OMNI, the Garmin R10 and R50, the Rapsodo MLM2PRO, the Mevo Gen 2, the Uneekor EYE MINI, EYE MINI LITE and EYE XO2, the ProTee VX, the Bushnell Launch Pro, the Foresight GC3, GCQuad, QuadMAX and Falcon, and GolfJoy's units. The Trackman iO and SkyTrak ST MAX are not on it.
What is the best overhead launch monitor?
The ProTee VX, $6,500, is the best value: no stickers and no subscription. The Uneekor EYE XO2, $10,999, adds impact video and trouble mats, the Trackman iO works from an 8 ft 10 in ceiling, and the Foresight Falcon, $16,999, has the largest hitting zone of the overhead units, 59 x 28 in.
Is there a discount code for golf launch monitors?
Yes. GSV5OFF takes 5% off a first order at Shop Indoor Golf, which sells most of these units. GSVMEVO takes 5% off the Mevo Gen 2 at FlightScope, GSVSQUARE takes 5% off at Square Golf, and GSV's SkyTrak link applies GOLFSIMULATORVIDEOS.
Is there free help choosing a launch monitor?
Yes. GSV's partner builders, master builders Jay hand-picked, offer a free consultation: they check the launch monitor, the room and the screen fit before you buy, and offer package deals on the whole build, DIY packages and full installation.
