Rapsodo MLM2PRO Review 2026: Price, Accuracy, Subscription and Room Size

The Rapsodo MLM2PRO is a small launch monitor that sits behind the ball and reads it with two cameras and a Doppler radar. It works indoors and outdoors, records video of the swing and the impact, and runs Rapsodo's own range and courses on a phone, a tablet or now a PC, with GSPro and E6 on top. Here is what it costs, what it measures, what the Premium Membership adds, how it did beside a Foresight GCQuad, how short it chips, the room it needs, and how it compares with the new MLM2XPRO. Jay Lasco, host of Golf Simulator Videos, has filmed the MLM2PRO since its debut at the 2023 PGA Show, and the driver, chipping and club data tests below are his.

Rapsodo MLM2PRO review: the short version

The MLM2PRO is a good unit that gets underrated, in Jay's words from GSV's under $1,000 guide. Carry and spin axis were close to a GCQuad in his driver test, it reads short chips, and it records its own swing and impact video, which few units at the price do. Its limits: launch angle read a couple of degrees low, spin needs RPT balls indoors, almost everything past basic numbers needs Premium, and it does not putt.

  • Buy it if: the budget is under $1,000, it will go to the range as well, and video of the swing matters.
  • Look elsewhere if: putting matters (the MLM2XPRO putts), no subscription is wanted (the Square Golf has none), or the room is short.

Rapsodo MLM2PRO price and what comes in the box

Rapsodo lists the MLM2PRO at $699.99. The box, by Rapsodo: the MLM2PRO, a tripod, a carrying case, a charging cable and three RPT balls, Titleist Pro V1 or Callaway Chrome Tour depending on the box. A dozen more RPT balls are about $65 to $70 from Rapsodo.

The first-year cost with Premium is about $900 at list price, and GSPro adds $250 a year. Rapsodo also sold a one-time Lifetime membership, $599.99 by October 2026, until October 14, 2026, and no longer sells it.

How it works: two cameras and a radar

  • Impact Vision: a 240 frames a second camera on the ball at impact, by Rapsodo.
  • Shot Vision: a second camera for the swing video and a shot tracer.
  • Doppler radar: for club speed and the ball's location and speed.
  • Swing Vision: a phone can be paired as one more swing camera.

Sitting behind the ball, it works for left and right-handed golfers without moving, and Rapsodo's app uses the phone's camera to line the unit up.

What the MLM2PRO measures

Measured (8)Calculated (7)
Ball speedCarry distance
Launch angleTotal distance
Launch directionSide carry
Spin rateSmash factor
Spin axisDescent angle
Club speedApex
Club pathShot type
Angle of attack

That is Rapsodo's split as of October 2026. Club path and angle of attack arrived in a firmware and app update in May 2025; before that, club speed was the only club figure. Spin rate and spin axis need an RPT ball indoors: Rapsodo says a Titleist or Callaway RPT ball is required to show spin, and the MLM2PRO works with any ball otherwise.

Premium Membership: what works without it

By Rapsodo's FAQ, the MLM2PRO comes with a 45-day trial of Premium (a 21-day banner also shows on its site, so check at checkout), which then costs $199.99 a year. Memberships are bought in the app or in R-Cloud and are not transferable. Without Premium, Rapsodo's team told Jay in 2025, the unit still gives the basic figures and the down-the-line video replay. Premium adds, by Rapsodo:

  • all 15 figures, with spin and spin axis, and the club data
  • 30,000+ simulated courses, Closest to the Pin, Best Ball and Scramble
  • the enhanced Target Range, R-Speed swing speed training and the Rapsodo Combine
  • multi-angle swing replay, Impact Vision and R-Cloud
  • GSPro, which requires Premium by GSPro's own list

In Jay's view, the membership is close to a must for a simulator, because without it there is no spin axis, and so no shot shape indoors.

Club path and angle of attack

Rapsodo tested the new club figures against a Foresight GCQuad on 1,021 shots and published an average error of about 1.05 degrees for angle of attack and 1.19 degrees for club path, with the MLM2PRO reading both slightly high on average. Setting up for club data adds a level reading for the unit's tilt and a second alignment box.

Jay tried it with a 58 degree wedge in a tight room, the unit about 7 ft behind the ball. A normal swing read about 7 degrees down, a shallow swing from the inside read 3.4 degrees of attack and 8.2 degrees in to out, a steep over the top swing read 10.5 degrees down, and a range cut read -1.5 degrees of path, exactly what he was trying to do. He came away very impressed.

How accurate is the MLM2PRO? Jay's driver test beside a GCQuad

In April 2023 Jay hit drivers indoors with the MLM2PRO and a Foresight GCQuad side by side, on Rapsodo's Range with an RPT ball. He has also filmed the two side by side outdoors, in a GSV Short.

  • Carry: close: 278 and 277 yd, 250 and 250, 267 and 268.
  • Spin axis: close: 3.0 and 2.7 degrees right on one drive, 14.4 and 14 on a fade.
  • Ball speed and spin: close: 157 and 156 mph; about 2,645 and 2,700 rpm.
  • Launch angle: the MLM2PRO read low, about 2 to 2.5 degrees on most drives, 14.1 against 11.8 on one.

A couple of random misses he put down to the two units interfering with each other.

How short can the MLM2PRO read a chip?

In the first look the shortest read was 8 to 9 yd. After more testing in Awesome Golf, Jay had it reading 3 yd chips consistently, and 2 yd with the unit moved back to about 6.5 ft. Very low, bladed chips read less reliably than ones with a little height, and the spin on short chips read well. On the odd miss, his point was that he would rather a unit at this price miss a shot completely than misread it. The MLM2PRO does not putt, and in GSPro putts are given.

Rapsodo's own golf simulator, and the PC app

  • Rapsodo Range: a virtual range with the trajectory and shot trace.
  • Target Range: 72 target distances and 4 fairway targets, from May 2024.
  • Rapsodo Courses: 30,000+ courses with Premium, with better graphics, elevation and junior tees from the October 2024 update.
  • R-Cloud: every session, video and shot online, with CSV export and club comparisons.
  • PC app: in October 2026 Rapsodo released a free PC app for owners of a compatible Rapsodo launch monitor, and says it keeps supporting the MLM2PRO.

Rapsodo's software still does not need a gaming PC, its team told Jay. GSPro does.

GSPro, E6 and Awesome Golf

Rapsodo lists GSPro, E6 Apex, E6 Connect and Awesome Golf. GSPro has the MLM2PRO on its official list, requires a Premium Membership for it, costs $250 a year and runs on a Windows PC. The connection was shown live at the 2025 PGA Show. For what each program needs, see GSPro compatible launch monitors and the GSPro guide, and for the PC, the golf simulator PC benchmarks.

MLM2PRO room size and setup

By Rapsodo: 8 ft from the ball to the net, and the MLM2PRO 6.5 to 8.5 ft behind the ball on the target line, so a little more than 14 ft from the unit to the net. The golfer needs room to swing in front of the unit as well.

  • Room depth: in the GSV Sim Builder, a room 14 ft wide with a 10 ft ceiling and a 5 ft 9 in golfer needs 16 ft for the MLM2PRO, and 17 ft for a layout with nothing to watch.
  • Ceiling: about 9 ft for most golfers with a driver; the unit itself sits on the floor.
  • Short chips: about 6.5 ft behind the ball read the shortest chips in Jay's testing.

Check your own room in the room size checker or lay it out in the GSV Sim Builder.

Indoors and outdoors

Rapsodo says the MLM2PRO has full function indoors and outdoors. Outdoors it sees the whole ball flight and needs no special balls, and in Jay's 2024 comparison with the Square Golf it was the one that really thrives outdoors. Indoors, use RPT balls for spin.

MLM2PRO vs MLM2XPRO, Garmin R10 and Square Golf

All four are in the launch monitors under $1,000 guide, and the launch monitor finder checks them against your room.

Rapsodo MLM2PRO questions

Is the Rapsodo MLM2PRO still worth it now that the MLM2XPRO is out?

For golfers who do not need putting, yes. It keeps the cameras, the radar and the swing and impact video, and costs about $200 less. The MLM2XPRO adds putting, a screen and faster shot processing, and Rapsodo told Jay it has no plans to bring those to the MLM2PRO.

How accurate is the Rapsodo MLM2PRO?

Beside a Foresight GCQuad in Jay's 2023 driver test, carry and spin axis were close, within a few yards and fractions of a degree on most drives, and launch angle read about 2 to 2.5 degrees low. Rapsodo's own test of its club path and angle of attack against a GCQuad put both within about 1 to 1.2 degrees on average.

Does the MLM2PRO need a subscription?

For most of what makes it a simulator, yes. It comes with a 45-day trial of Rapsodo's Premium Membership, then $199.99 a year. Without it, the unit gives the basic figures and the swing replay; Premium adds spin and spin axis, club data, 30,000+ courses, Impact Vision, R-Cloud and GSPro access.

Can the Rapsodo MLM2PRO putt?

No. The MLM2PRO does not read putts, and in GSPro putts are given. Rapsodo told Jay it has no plans to add putting to the MLM2PRO; its MLM2XPRO putts.

Does the MLM2PRO work with GSPro?

Yes. GSPro lists the MLM2PRO as officially supported and requires a Rapsodo Premium Membership for it. GSPro costs $250 a year and runs on a Windows PC.

How much space does the MLM2PRO need indoors?

Rapsodo asks for 8 ft from the ball to the net and the unit 6.5 to 8.5 ft behind the ball. In the GSV Sim Builder, a room 14 ft wide with a 10 ft ceiling and a 5 ft 9 in golfer needs 16 ft of depth, and 17 ft for a layout with nothing to watch.

Do you need RPT balls for the MLM2PRO?

Indoors, for spin. Rapsodo says a Titleist or Callaway RPT ball is required to show spin rate and spin axis, and three come in the box. Outdoors the MLM2PRO works with ordinary range balls.

Can the MLM2PRO run on a computer without GSPro?

Yes, since October 2026. Rapsodo released a free PC app for owners of a compatible Rapsodo launch monitor and says it keeps supporting the MLM2PRO. Before that, Rapsodo's own software ran on phones and tablets.
