Best Golf Nets 2026: For Home, the Garage, Indoors and the Backyard

A golf net is the cheapest way to hit full shots at home: in a garage, a basement, a spare room or the backyard, with a launch monitor or without one. Jay Lasco, host of Golf Simulator Videos, built GSV's 2024 budget simulator around the SIGPRO Golf Net with a Garmin R10, and has built simulators with nets, impact screens and full enclosures since. This guide picks the best golf nets for each use, from a $100 net to a $995 ball-return net, with the makers' prices and sizes, how far to stand from one, how to use a net with a launch monitor, and how to turn a net into a simulator later.

Codes first: GSVBUDGET takes $50 off a net practice bundle at Shop Indoor Golf, and GSV5OFF takes 5% off a first order there, on the SIGPRO Golf Net and The Net Return. Every code is on the golf simulator discount codes page.

Best golf net for indoors: SIGPRO Golf Net, $399.99

The SIGPRO Golf Net is 9 ft wide, 7 ft 7 in tall and 10 ft deep, with side barrier netting and sandbags and four ball bungees in the box, and a one-year warranty on the net. Shop Indoor Golf calls it simulator ready: an impact screen with a top crossbar adds $249.99 and turns it into a screen for a projector.

It is the net in GSV's 2024 budget build: the SIGPRO Golf Net with its screen, a SIGPRO Softy Lite 4 x 5 ft mat, a landing pad, a BenQ projector, a Garmin R10 and an iPad Pro. The build shows how far a net goes on a small budget, and how a net becomes a simulator.

Net and launch monitor bundles

Shop Indoor Golf sells a launch monitor and a net together as a net practice bundle, with a choice of nets: a 10 x 7 ft net, a 10 x 10 x 10 ft cage or the SIGPRO Golf Net. The mat is separate. The shot shows on a phone or a tablet, so the bundle is a whole practice setup on its own.

Best ball-return net: The Net Return

The Net Return's nets are shaped to send the ball back to the hitter, so a bucket of balls lasts a whole session. The Net Return gives its nets a warranty of 3 years or 250,000 shots, uses UV-treated netting for a garage, a spare room or the backyard, and sells an outdoor cover for a net left outside.

The Net ReturnSizePrice

Pro8 x 7 ft 6 in$795
Pro 99 x 8 ft$995
  • Add-ons: side barriers (Shop Indoor Golf calls them a must on the Home), a No Fly Zone canopy over the top, and a simulator screen that mounts on the frame, from $239 on the Home to $549 on the Pro XL, by The Net Return.
  • With a launch monitor: The Net Return says a launch monitor works with its nets, and that each launch monitor has its own ball-to-net distance to follow.

The Net Return's prices, read October 19, 2026. Shop Indoor Golf sells them, and GSV5OFF takes 5% off a first order there.

Best backyard golf net: Spornia

Spornia's nets pop up in seconds, return the ball automatically, take any club including a driver, and work indoors or out, by Spornia. They come with a target sheet that softens the noise, not a projection screen, and no side barriers.

  • SPG-5: $249.99.
  • SPG-7: $349.99.
  • SPG-8: $499.99, 8 x 8 x 8 ft with a roof, about 9 ft high.

Spornia's prices, read October 19, 2026. For the yard, stake the net down, keep it clear of windows and people, and take it in or cover it when it is not in use.

Golf cages with an impact screen

A cage puts netting on the sides and the top as well as the front, and a cage with an impact screen is the cheapest simulator screen there is.

  • 10 x 10 x 10 ft cage: $299.99, or $369.99 with an impact screen, by Shop Indoor Golf, which says it works outdoors too.
  • 10 x 8 x 10 ft net: $269.99, or $339.99 with a screen.
  • GoSports Range Cage 10 x 8 ft: $299.99 by GoSports, in a version with an 88 x 80 in impact screen, side shank nets and top netting; GoSports recommends a 9 ft ceiling.

The best golf nets under $200

  • 10 x 7 ft Rounded golf net: $99.99 at Shop Indoor Golf, the net in its lowest-priced bundles.
  • IZZO EZ-Up: $199.99 by IZZO, 8 x 8 ft with a padded frame and water bags.
  • IZZO Titan: from $119.99 by IZZO, in 7 x 7 ft and 12 x 10 ft.

How to choose a golf net

  • Size: wide and tall enough to catch a mishit with every club, not just a good drive. Side barriers or side netting stop the shank that misses the net.
  • Distance: GSV's room rules for a 5 ft 9 in golfer swinging a driver: 8 ft from the tee to the net at the least, 10 ft ideal, 12 ft at the most, and about 7 ft behind the tee for the swing. A net needs the same ceiling and the same space around the golfer as a $15,000 room.
  • Ball return: a net that rolls the ball back saves walking, and a padded frame cuts down ricochets.
  • Indoors or out: UV-treated netting and a cover for a net left outside; stakes or sandbags so it does not move.
  • A screen later: a net that takes an impact screen, such as the SIGPRO, The Net Return or a cage with a screen, carries over to a simulator.

The room size calculator checks the width, depth and ceiling for your height and swing, and golf simulator for a low ceiling covers rooms under 9 ft.

Using a net with a launch monitor

A launch monitor turns a net into practice with numbers, and its maker sets the distances:

  • Garmin R10: 6 to 8 ft behind the tee, with the tee at least 8 ft from the net, by Garmin's manual.
  • Rapsodo MLM2PRO: 6.5 ft behind the ball, with at least 8 ft of ball flight to the net, by Rapsodo, in a space about 14.5 ft long.
  • Square Golf and other camera units: on the floor beside the ball, so the room only needs the golfer's distances.

A radar unit indoors sees only the first few feet of flight before the net, so a camera unit beside the ball often reads better in a short room. Every option is compared in the best golf launch monitors of 2026, and the launch monitor finder filters them by budget and room.

From a net to a golf simulator

A net is the first of three steps: a net with a launch monitor, then a net with an impact screen and a projector, then a full enclosure. The launch monitor and the mat carry over at each step; the net is the part that gets replaced, unless it takes a screen. Golf simulator net vs impact screen covers the trade-off, golf simulator enclosures compared the next step, and golf simulator packages the complete kits. The GSV Sim Builder lays out the room at each step, free.
