About Golf Simulator Videos

The #1 Resource for Golf Simulator Reviews, Comparisons & Build Advice

I'm Jay — host of Golf Simulator Videos, the world's largest dedicated golf simulator YouTube channel. For over 7 years I've been buying, testing, and comparing virtually every major launch monitor and simulator system on the market — in my own studio, side by side, with real data. I don't review products I haven't touched. I don't repeat manufacturer specs. Everything you'll find here comes from hands-on experience.

I personally own and test the Uneekor EYE XO, Foresight GCQuad, Trackman iO, SkyTrak, Flightscope Mevo+ and many more — so when I tell you one launch monitor is more accurate than another, I've measured it myself on camera. My goal is simple: help you buy the right simulator the first time and avoid costly mistakes.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best golf simulator for home use?

It depends on your budget. For under $1,500 the Garmin R10 is the top entry-level pick. For $2,000–$5,000 the Uneekor EYE MINI LITE and Garmin R50 lead the pack. Under $10,000 the Uneekor EYE XO is hard to beat. Jay's complete guide covers every budget tier with real testing data.

How much does a golf simulator cost?

A basic setup with a launch monitor, net, and mat starts around $1,500–$2,000. A proper full enclosure setup with a quality launch monitor, projector, and impact screen typically runs $5,000–$12,000. Premium setups with tour-grade launch monitors (Trackman, GCQuad) start at $15,000+.

Do I need a PC for a golf simulator?

Most major simulator software (GSPro, Trackman Virtual Golf, TruGolf APEX) requires a Windows gaming PC. The main exception is the Garmin R50, which has a built-in computer and runs 43,000 courses with no external PC needed. See Jay's complete PC guide for GPU and spec recommendations.

What room size do I need for a golf simulator?

The minimum comfortable space is 9 ft ceiling height, 10 ft width, and 15–18 ft depth. Some compact launch monitors (SkyTrak+, Garmin R50) can work in slightly smaller spaces. Email Jay with your exact room dimensions and he'll tell you what fits.

Which golf simulator software is best?

GSPro is the most popular among serious sim golfers — it has the best course library and online play. E6 Connect is the most compatible across launch monitors and the only platform with full course play on iPad. Trackman Virtual Golf 3 has the best graphics. GolfCore by ProTee is the exciting new platform launching in 2026. See Jay's complete software guide for full comparisons, pricing, and compatibility by launch monitor.

Is the Garmin R10 worth it?

Yes — at ~$500 it's still the best entry-level option. Ball speed and carry distance data are solid. The main limitation is indoor spin axis accuracy, which improves significantly with the Titleist RCT ball. Jay has done extensive on-camera R10 testing — watch his Garmin R10 videos here.
