The Rapsodo MLM2XPRO is the MLM2PRO's successor, not a new kind of launch monitor. Both use the same two cameras and Doppler radar and read the same 15 figures, so the data should be the same. What the MLM2XPRO adds is putting in Rapsodo's simulation, twice as fast a shot to show, a screen on the unit, a tilt built into its stand and a dozen RPT balls in the box, for $200 more at list price. This page sets the two side by side from Rapsodo's own pages and GSV's testing: what changed, what stayed the same, the memberships and what each costs over three years, the room, and who each one suits. Jay Lasco, host of Golf Simulator Videos, has tested the MLM2PRO since its launch in 2023, against a Foresight GCQuad for accuracy and through its club data update, and reviewed the MLM2XPRO with an MLM2PRO beside it.

The short answer
- The data should be the same. The MLM2XPRO uses the MLM2PRO's dual cameras and Doppler radar, and both list the same 15 figures. GSV's accuracy testing of the MLM2PRO carries over.
- Putting is the big difference. The MLM2XPRO putts in Rapsodo's simulation on all 30,000 of its courses, with a Core membership. The MLM2PRO does not putt, and Rapsodo has no plans at this time to add it, as GSV's MLM2XPRO review reports.
- The rest is speed and setup. A shot shows twice as fast, a screen on top shows the level, the tilt and the battery, and the tripod has a built-in tilt.
- The yearly cost is the same. The MLM2PRO's Premium membership and the MLM2XPRO's Core membership are both $199.99 a year, so over time the gap stays the $200 between the units at list price; a sale on the MLM2PRO widens it. Studios, with Rapsodo's 4K courses, is $399.99 a year.

What stays the same
- The sensors and the data. Rapsodo says the MLM2XPRO carries the MLM2PRO's dual-camera and Doppler radar tracking system. Both list 15 figures; the 8 Rapsodo marks as measured are club speed, ball speed, launch direction, launch angle, spin rate, spin axis, angle of attack and club path. The others are carry, total distance, side carry, smash factor, apex, descent angle and shot type.
- RPT balls indoors. Spin rate and spin axis are measured with Rapsodo's RPT balls, which is why indoors, where the ball flies only a few feet, both units want them. Outdoors, where the radar follows the ball, Jay hits ordinary range balls, as in GSV's accuracy test against the GCQuad.
- The setup. Both sit 6 1/2 to 8 1/2 ft behind the ball, on the target line. Rapsodo's MLM2PRO page asks for about 8 ft from the ball to the net indoors.
- Swing video. Both record the swing and Impact Vision, Rapsodo's 240 frames a second view of impact, with a membership.
- Third-party software. Rapsodo lists GSPro, E6 Apex, E6 Connect and Awesome Golf for both. GSPro itself is separate software, $250 a year from GSPro.
- The new apps. Rapsodo says its new phone app and its PC app keep supporting the MLM2PRO. The PC app is a free download for owners of a compatible Rapsodo launch monitor.
GSV tested the MLM2PRO's driver numbers against a Foresight GCQuad in its MLM2PRO accuracy test, and the club path and angle of attack it gained in 2025 are in the club data update. With the same sensors, that testing applies to the MLM2XPRO too.
What the MLM2XPRO adds
Putting
Rapsodo says it brings putting-enabled simulation "to all 30K Rapsodo courses". It needs the Core membership, and a putter in the bag in the app. In GSV's testing:
- Line: launch direction read to a tenth of a degree, and an 8 to 9 ft putt went in at 2.2 degrees left.
- Lag putts: from 47 ft, pace and line were good.
- Very soft putts: a putt hit to stop about 2 ft away read as rolling about a yard, so babying a short putt is the one place GSV would watch the speed.
- Leave the ball still once the unit is ready: one putt registered on its own after the ball was moved.
The MLM2PRO has no putting. The home putting simulator guide sets the MLM2XPRO beside every other launch monitor that putts.
Speed, the screen and the stand
- Twice as fast: Rapsodo gives the MLM2XPRO a shot to show and a connection twice as fast as before. Rapsodo has not said what changed inside.
- A screen on top: it shows the level and the tilt while the stand is adjusted, the battery as a percentage, and the connection.
- A tilt in the stand: the tripod has an adjustable leg, so the unit is leveled on its stand while the screen shows when it is level.
Twelve balls in the box
The MLM2XPRO comes with a dozen RPT balls, Titleist Pro V1 or Callaway Chrome Tour; the MLM2PRO comes with three Pro V1 RPT. Indoors, RPT balls are what the spin is measured from, so the extra nine count.

The memberships
The two units come with different membership names, at the same yearly price for the full simulator:
| Membership | Per year | What it gives |
|---|---|---|
| MLM2PRO Premium | $199.99 | 15 figures, more than 30,000 simulated courses, swing replay with shot trace, Impact Vision. No putting |
| MLM2XPRO free plan | $0 | Outdoor range practice in the phone app |
| MLM2XPRO Core | $199.99 | 15 figures, two golfer profiles, eight advanced practice modes, three levels of video feedback, more than 30,000 courses with putting, on the phone and the PC |
| MLM2XPRO Studios | $399.99 | Everything in Core, four golfer profiles, the 4K Studios course library and on-course practice on a compatible PC |
Studios is $399.99 a year in all, not on top of Core. Rapsodo's announcement put the library at 25 courses in 4K at launch, among them Bethpage Black, Tobacco Road and Quail Hollow; its MLM2XPRO page says nearly 30, counting simulation partners' courses. On October 14, 2026, Rapsodo's pages did not say whether an MLM2PRO can take Core or Studios, or putting with them: its membership page still sold MLM2PRO Premium. GSV will update this page when Rapsodo says.
What each costs over three years
| At list price | MLM2PRO with Premium | MLM2XPRO with Core |
|---|---|---|
| The unit | $699.99 | $899.99 |
| With a year of membership | $899.98 | $1,099.98 |
| Two years | $1,099.97 | $1,299.97 |
| Three years | $1,299.96 | $1,499.96 |
Each year after the first includes a year of membership. The first year's membership is counted in full here; the trial in the box takes a few weeks off it. GSV5OFF takes 5% off either unit on a first order at Shop Indoor Golf. With Studios in place of Core, the MLM2XPRO costs $200 a year more.
Already own an MLM2PRO?
Rapsodo told its golf community on October 14, 2026 what changes for MLM2PRO owners:
- A Lifetime membership moves to the MLM2XPRO if the transfer is made by March 15, 2027, moved from December 31, 2026, and the MLM2XPRO is activated by March 31, 2027. It can be bought from any retailer from October 15 and still qualify, so one bought at Shop Indoor Golf with GSV5OFF should qualify too.
- Lifetime sales have ended. Rapsodo sold Lifetime memberships until 11:59 pm CDT on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, and no longer sells them.
- Keep both units: a second device on the same R-Cloud account is $99 a year, and both share the player profiles and the membership status. It is an add-on, not a second Lifetime unit, and it does not extend the March 15 deadline: a Lifetime member who buys an MLM2XPRO after that date needs a membership for it.
- A trade-in from November 15, US only: trade in an MLM2PRO and get a year of Rapsodo Studios, which Rapsodo puts at about $400 of value. It is separate from the Lifetime transfer, the MLM2XPRO has to be bought through R-Cloud to qualify, and Rapsodo says details are to come.
So for an MLM2PRO owner with Lifetime, the cleanest path is to buy the MLM2XPRO and transfer before March 15, 2027. Without Lifetime, compare the trade-in, a year of Studios through R-Cloud, with GSV5OFF on a first order at Shop Indoor Golf, and pick whichever is worth more to you.
The room
The room is the same for both. Each sits 6 1/2 to 8 1/2 ft behind the ball, and Rapsodo asks for about 8 ft of ball flight to the net or screen. With the 10 ft from the tee to an impact screen that screen makers ask for, that is 16 1/2 to 18 1/2 ft from the unit to the screen, and the screen wants 12 to 16 in more to the wall behind it. A short room is where a launch monitor beside the ball, such as Square Golf, fits better.

Which one suits you
- The MLM2XPRO suits a golfer who wants to putt out every hole in Rapsodo's simulation, who wants the faster shot to show and the easier leveling, or who wants Rapsodo's 4K courses on a PC with Studios.
- The MLM2PRO suits a golfer who wants the same ball and club data for less, mostly for range practice, swing video and full shots, and who is happy to use a gimme or auto putt in the simulator. Shop Indoor Golf also sells it in a net practice bundle, where GSVBUDGET takes $50 off.
- Already own an MLM2PRO? The data does not change, and Rapsodo's new apps keep supporting it. The case for the MLM2XPRO is putting in the simulation and the faster feedback, and a Lifetime membership can move to it until March 15, 2027 (see above). If those matter, it is the upgrade; if not, the MLM2PRO does the same job.
Both are in the best launch monitor under $1,000 guide, next to the Square Golf Home Edition and the Garmin R10.
Swing indoors with caution. A launch monitor behind the ball sits in the path of a club swung back hard. Keep it at the distance Rapsodo gives, and test every clearance with slow practice swings with your longest club first. Golf Simulator Videos and its affiliates take no responsibility for your safety, or for any injury or damage, when you swing indoors.

Discount codes
GSV5OFF takes 5% off a first order at Shop Indoor Golf: the MLM2XPRO came to $855.00 and the MLM2PRO to $665.00 at GSV's checkouts. GSVBUDGET takes $50 off the MLM2PRO net practice bundle there. The Rapsodo discount code page has both units and the terms, and every code is on the golf simulator discount codes page.

MLM2XPRO vs MLM2PRO questions
What is the difference between the MLM2XPRO and the MLM2PRO?
The MLM2XPRO adds putting in Rapsodo's simulation, a shot to show twice as fast, a screen on the unit, a tilt built into the tripod and 12 RPT balls in the box. Both use the same two cameras and Doppler radar and list the same 15 figures, so the data should be the same.
Is the MLM2XPRO more accurate than the MLM2PRO?
Rapsodo says the MLM2XPRO uses the MLM2PRO's dual-camera and Doppler radar tracking system, and both list the same 15 figures with the same 8 measured, so the data should be the same. GSV's accuracy test of the MLM2PRO against a Foresight GCQuad applies to both.
Does the MLM2PRO do putting?
No. Putting in Rapsodo's simulation is new with the MLM2XPRO and needs its Core membership. Rapsodo has no plans at this time to bring putting to the MLM2PRO, as GSV's MLM2XPRO review reports.
How much more is the MLM2XPRO than the MLM2PRO?
$200 at list price: $899.99 against $699.99. The MLM2PRO's Premium membership and the MLM2XPRO's Core membership are both $199.99 a year, so over three years at list price the two come to $1,299.96 and $1,499.96.
Should an MLM2PRO owner upgrade to the MLM2XPRO?
Only for what is new. The data does not change, and Rapsodo says its new phone and PC apps keep supporting the MLM2PRO. The MLM2XPRO adds putting in the simulation, faster feedback, the screen and the tilt in the stand. A Lifetime membership can move to it if transferred by March 15, 2027, and from November 15 Rapsodo runs a US trade-in of the MLM2PRO for a year of Studios.
Can a Rapsodo Lifetime membership move to the MLM2XPRO?
Yes, by March 15, 2027, Rapsodo told its community on October 14, 2026, with the MLM2XPRO activated by March 31, 2027. An MLM2XPRO bought from any retailer from October 15 qualifies. Rapsodo stopped selling Lifetime memberships at 11:59 pm CDT on October 14, 2026.
Can an MLM2PRO owner keep it and add an MLM2XPRO?
Yes. A second device on the same R-Cloud account is $99 a year, and both share the player profiles and the membership status. It is not a second Lifetime unit and does not extend the March 15, 2027 transfer deadline.
Can the MLM2PRO use Rapsodo Studios?
Rapsodo says its new PC app keeps supporting the MLM2PRO, but on October 14, 2026 its pages did not say whether an MLM2PRO can take Core or Studios. Its membership page still sold MLM2PRO Premium at $199.99 a year. GSV will update this page when Rapsodo says.
Do the MLM2XPRO and MLM2PRO need the same room?
Yes. Both sit 6 1/2 to 8 1/2 ft behind the ball, and Rapsodo asks for about 8 ft from the ball to the net or screen. Indoors, both want RPT balls for measured spin.
Do both work with GSPro?
Yes. Rapsodo lists GSPro, E6 Apex, E6 Connect and Awesome Golf for both. GSPro itself is separate software, $250 a year from GSPro.
Is there a discount code for the MLM2XPRO or MLM2PRO?
Yes. GSV5OFF takes 5% off a first order at Shop Indoor Golf: the MLM2XPRO came to $855.00 and the MLM2PRO to $665.00 at GSV's checkouts in October 2026. GSVBUDGET takes $50 off the MLM2PRO net practice bundle there.
Is there free help planning a simulator around either one?
Yes. Jay offers a free consultation with GSV's partner master builders, hand-picked by Jay, who get on a call quickly and make sure everything fits. They offer package deals, DIY packages, full installation and more. Use the free consultation button on this page.
