Fiberbuilt golf mats are built on a modular rubber base with a choice of three hitting surfaces, and Fiberbuilt guarantees its Fiberbuilt Grass panels for 300,000 shots. Jay Lasco, host of Golf Simulator Videos, reviewed the Fiberbuilt Tee Box in 2022, built a Foresight Sim in a Box on a Fiberbuilt mat that year, and has used the major hitting mats across GSV's builds since. This review covers what each Fiberbuilt surface is like, what Jay found, every current model with Fiberbuilt's prices, which one suits a golf simulator, how it compares with the SIGPRO Softy, the Carl's Place HotShot and TrueStrike, and where to buy with a GSV code.
Code first: GSV5OFF takes 5% off a first order at Shop Indoor Golf, which sells twelve Fiberbuilt models at Fiberbuilt's prices. At GSV's checkout on October 19, 2026 it took $97.45 off the $1,949 Fiberbuilt Grass 10 x 4 ft double hitting mat, and on every Fiberbuilt studio mat it saves more than a $20 mat code. Shop Indoor Golf takes one code per order. GSV's partner sells the Fiberbuilt models Shop Indoor Golf does not list: ask for special GSV pricing with the consultation button.

The verdict
- Best for: golfers who hit a lot of balls and want a mat that lasts and goes easy on the joints. The Grass panels carry a 300,000-shot guarantee and the rubber bases a five-year limited warranty.
- Pick the surface: Player Preferred for the most feedback, Fiberbuilt Grass for durability and the joints, Performance Turf for a real tee anywhere at a lower price.
- The trade-off: the glide that protects the joints also hides a fat shot. Fiberbuilt's own ratings put the Grass surface lowest of the three for fat-shot awareness and highest for injury prevention.
- Price: more than a foam-strip mat such as the SIGPRO Softy, and heavy: a 10 x 4 ft studio mat weighs about 174 to 208 lb.
The three Fiberbuilt hitting surfaces
| Surface | What it is, by Fiberbuilt | Height and tee |
|---|---|---|
| Player Preferred | A Pure Impact Turf panel over a layer Fiberbuilt says absorbs 94.7% of club head vibration. For the better player who wants the most feedback in feel and sound | 1.75 in; friction-fit holder for a real tee |
| Fiberbuilt Grass | Nylon bristles that let the club hit down and through. For the golfer who practices a lot or wants to avoid joint injuries. 300,000-shot guarantee | 2 in; rubber tee or a holder for a real tee |
| Performance Turf | Dense turf for the stance and the shot alike, the value surface | 2 in; a real tee pushed straight into the turf |
From Fiberbuilt's pages, read October 19, 2026. On Fiberbuilt's own comparison, Player Preferred rates highest for realistic ball flight, fairway feel, contact point and fat-shot awareness; Fiberbuilt Grass rates highest for injury prevention; all three rate highest for stability. Fiberbuilt has made golf mats since 1995, when the family brush business it grew from built its first bristle mat.
Jay's test: the Fiberbuilt Tee Box
In Jay's 2022 Tee Box review, real tees went in anywhere on the mat, the mat forgave a swing that hits down into the ball, and it grabbed the club on a chunk, so distances stayed realistic. The video also shows the shock-absorbing rubber tray under the turf. He found the same with the Fiberbuilt mat in the Foresight Sim in a Box he built that year.
Fiberbuilt studio mats
A studio mat is a hitting panel set into a stance mat on the rubber base: single hitting (one side), center hitting (both hands from the middle) or double hitting (a panel for each hand).
| Player Preferred studio mat | Panel | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 7 x 4 ft single hitting | 1 x 4 ft | $1,299 |
| 8 x 4 ft single hitting | 2 x 4 ft | $1,499 |
| 9 x 4 ft center hitting | 1 x 4 ft | $1,599 |
| 10 x 4 ft center hitting | 2 x 4 ft | $1,699 |
| 12 x 4 ft double hitting | Two 2 x 4 ft | $2,499 |
| Fiberbuilt Grass studio mat | Panel | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 7 x 4 ft single hitting | 1 x 4 ft | $1,249 |
| 9 x 4 ft center hitting | 1 x 4 ft | $1,499 |
| 10 x 4 ft double hitting | Two 1 x 4 ft | $1,949 |
| 7 x 6 ft single hitting | 1 x 6 ft | $1,999 |
| 9 x 6 ft center hitting | 1 x 6 ft | $2,199 |
| 10 x 6 ft double hitting | Two panels | $2,750 |
Fiberbuilt's prices, read October 19, 2026. The 7 and 9 ft Player Preferred mats use a narrower 1 x 4 ft panel and are listed for a limited time, for home use. Fiberbuilt's Traditional mats, a 5 x 4 ft single and a 6 x 4 ft double hitting mat with Grass panels, are $1,199 and $1,450.
Fiberbuilt Tee Boxes: a real tee anywhere
The Tee Box is Performance Turf over the rubber base, with no separate panel: push a real tee straight into the turf anywhere. It is the model Jay reviewed.
| Tee Box | Built size | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 4 x 4 ft | 49 x 49 in | $499 |
| 4 x 6 ft | 73 x 49 in | $749 |
| 5 x 5 ft | 61 x 61 in | $799 |
| 4 x 8 ft | 97 x 49 in | $999 |
| 6 x 6 ft | 73 x 73 in | $1,149 |
| 4 x 10 ft | 121 x 49 in | $1,249 |
Small and practice mats
- Flight Deck, $99: a 2 x 1 ft oval of Fiberbuilt Grass in a heavy-duty base, for indoors or for staking into a lawn. It is a practice pad, not a simulator stance mat.
- Practice Station, $499: the Flight Deck set into a 61 x 40 in rubber stance base with a ball tray and alignment rods.
- Hourglass kit, $349: a 5 x 3 ft Performance Turf mat that takes a real tee, with a ball tray and alignment rods.
Combo mats and putting greens
Fiberbuilt's combo mats put a hitting area beside a putting green on one rubber base, from $2,849 for an 8 x 10 ft Player Preferred combo to $4,999 for a 10 x 16 ft Grass combo; the Player Preferred combos' putting turf runs at 9 on the stimpmeter, by Fiberbuilt. Its putting greens, stimp 9 with metal cups, run from $829 for 4 x 8 ft to $2,399 for 10 x 10 ft. Every indoor green GSV compares is in the best indoor putting greens.
Which Fiberbuilt for a golf simulator
- Right and left-handed golfers: a center hitting mat (one panel in the middle) or a double hitting mat (one for each hand). Fiberbuilt's center and double hitting mats serve both hands without turning the mat.
- A launch monitor beside the ball: Fiberbuilt's 6 ft deep Grass studio mats include a 2 ft spacer section for a face-on launch monitor, and Fiberbuilt names Foresight, SkyTrak and Ernest Sports. On a 4 ft deep mat, the launch monitor sits on the floor or the turf beside it.
- Size to the enclosure: a 10 x 4 ft mat suits most enclosures 10 to 12 ft wide; the 6 ft deep mats give more room for the stance and the launch monitor. Set the mat level with the turf around it, as GSV's golf simulator flooring guide shows.
- Real tees: the Tee Box anywhere; the studio mats through a tee holder.
The GSV Sim Builder lays several Fiberbuilt mats in your room at their real size, single or double width, with the launch monitor and the tee, and the cost calculator prices the mat with the rest of the build.

Fiberbuilt vs SIGPRO Softy, Carl's HotShot and TrueStrike
| Mat | Hitting surface | Replaceable part |
|---|---|---|
| Fiberbuilt Grass studio | Nylon bristle panel, 2 in; 300,000-shot guarantee | Rotate the panel 180 degrees; swap left and right panels |
| SIGPRO Softy 4 x 7 ft, $999.99 | 1 in TeeLine turf over a soft foam strip, 2.5 in; takes a real tee | The strip, $249.99 |
| Carl's Place HotShot | A 12 x 30 in insert, 1.75 in: standard turf, foam or gel | The insert |
| TrueStrike | A thin strike surface over a silicone gel insert | The worn section |
Fiberbuilt's, Shop Indoor Golf's and Carl's Place's pages, read October 19, 2026. The Softy is Shop Indoor Golf's own brand, so its price is Shop Indoor Golf's. Carl's Place sends GSV's code by email from the Carl's Place discount code page. Jay's notes on each mat in GSV's builds, the SIGPRO Softy and Super Softy, the HotShot with the gel insert and the Fiberbuilt, are in the best golf simulator mats.
Care, replacement and warranty
- Warranty: one year against defects on the products and the stance and turf mats, and five years limited on the rubber bases, by Fiberbuilt's warranty page. The 300,000-shot guarantee is on the Fiberbuilt Grass hitting panels.
- Wear: Player Preferred and Grass panels can be rotated 180 degrees to spread the wear, and on a double hitting mat the left and right panels can be swapped. Fiberbuilt does not list replacement panels for sale online; call Fiberbuilt for one.
- Cleaning: Fiberbuilt says to pressure-wash the hitting panels once a year and the Performance Turf every few months.
- Floor: a firm, level surface such as concrete, packed gravel or a solid deck, not bare ground or grass. Assembly is tool-free.

Fiberbuilt golf mat questions
Is a Fiberbuilt golf mat worth it?
For a golfer who hits a lot of balls, yes: the Fiberbuilt Grass panels carry a 300,000-shot guarantee, the rubber bases a five-year limited warranty, and the panels rotate 180 degrees to spread the wear. In Jay's 2022 Tee Box review, real tees went in anywhere, the mat forgave a swing that hits down into the ball, and it grabbed the club on a chunk, so distances stayed realistic.
Which Fiberbuilt surface is best?
Player Preferred for the most feedback in feel and sound, Fiberbuilt Grass for durability and the joints, and Performance Turf for a real tee anywhere at a lower price. Fiberbuilt's own ratings put Grass highest for injury prevention and lowest of the three for fat-shot awareness.
How much is a Fiberbuilt golf mat?
Fiberbuilt's prices run from $99 for the Flight Deck pad and $499 for a 4 x 4 ft Tee Box to $1,249 to $2,750 for the studio mats and $2,849 to $4,999 for the combo mats with a putting green.
What size Fiberbuilt mat for a golf simulator?
A 10 x 4 ft studio mat suits most enclosures 10 to 12 ft wide, and a center or double hitting mat serves both right and left-handed golfers. The 6 ft deep Grass studio mats include a 2 ft spacer section for a face-on launch monitor.
Can you use a real tee on a Fiberbuilt mat?
Yes. The Tee Boxes take a real tee anywhere in the Performance Turf, and the studio mats take one through a friction-fit tee holder in the hitting panel.
Fiberbuilt vs SIGPRO Softy: which is better?
The SIGPRO Softy 4 x 7 ft is $999.99 at Shop Indoor Golf, with a soft foam hitting strip that takes a real tee and swaps out for $249.99. The Fiberbuilt Grass 7 x 4 ft is $1,249 on a heavy rubber base, with a 300,000-shot guarantee on its panel. The Softy costs less; the Fiberbuilt is built for more shots.
How long does a Fiberbuilt mat last?
Fiberbuilt guarantees its Grass hitting panels for 300,000 shots and warrants the rubber bases for five years against defects. Rotating a panel 180 degrees, or swapping the left and right panels on a double hitting mat, spreads the wear.
