The SkyTrak ST MAX and the SkyTrak+ share the same camera-and-radar technology, and by October 2026 SkyTrak sold only one of them new. The SkyTrak+ is now a certified pre-owned unit; the ST MAX replaced it. Here is what the two share, what the ST MAX adds, what each costs now, and which to buy. On October 15, 2026, SkyTrak's store had the ST MAX at $1,695 with a free year of Core: Foresight, a certified pre-owned ST MAX at $1,195, and a certified pre-owned SkyTrak+ at $895. Those are SkyTrak's sale prices that day.

What the two share

The camera reads the ball and the dual Doppler radar reads the club on both, and SkyTrak lists the same numbers for each: ball speed, launch, spin, carry and shot shape, plus club speed, smash factor, path, face and face to path. Both sit on the floor 15 in from the ball with the ball on SkyTrak's laser dot, and both run SkyTrak's app and memberships. When the ST MAX came out, Jay put it plainly: SkyTrak re-stabilized some parts inside, but it is "still going to be the same accuracy, same type of delay".

What the ST MAX adds

• Two USB ports. Jay wired his first SkyTrak+ to his computer and found it could not charge at the same time. The ST MAX fixes that. He now runs his on the home Wi-Fi network instead.
• Speed training. A GOLFTEC mode in SkyTrak's app sets a goal in club head speed or distance, works with a driver or a speed stick, and charts each session against tour average. Jay set a 115 mph goal and beat it at 115.6 mph.
• A new unit. The ST MAX comes new in charcoal gray, with SkyTrak's 6-month or 25,000-shot warranty and 30 days to return it.

The SkyTrak+ in GSV's tests

Jay tested the SkyTrak+ in 2023. Indoors, fades and draws on an 8-iron read correctly, with path and face to match, and good-strike spin landed at 7,000 to 7,300 rpm. Outdoors in full sun on a mat, wedge carries matched where the balls landed at a 35 yd flag; SkyTrak lists the ST MAX for indoor use. There was a small shot delay, which Jay understood to be the same on the ST MAX, and SkyTrak told Jay the club path and face angle are calculated.

Which to buy

• You should buy the ST MAX if you want a new unit with a fresh warranty, two USB ports for a wired setup, and speed training. GSV's full SkyTrak ST MAX review has the rest.
• You should buy a certified pre-owned SkyTrak+ if you want the same listed data at the lowest price, are fine with a 90-day warranty, and don't need speed training or the second port.
