A launch monitor with no subscription costs what it costs on the day you buy it, and nothing each year after. Only a few work that way in 2026. Most makers sell a yearly plan for course play, club data or software such as GSPro, and a few hold back part of the data without one. This page sorts every launch monitor GSV covers by what it does with no plan at all, what a plan adds and what it costs, and the cheapest way to play GSPro on each. Jay Lasco, host of Golf Simulator Videos, has filmed every launch monitor on this page, and the plan prices are the makers' own, read in October 2026.
Codes first: GSVMEVO takes 5% off the FlightScope Mevo Gen 2 at FlightScope, $1,299 to $1,234.05. GSVSQUARE takes 5% off a Square Golf at Square Golf. GSV5OFF takes 5% off a first order at Shop Indoor Golf, which sells the Garmin, Rapsodo, Uneekor, Foresight and Bushnell units below.

The short answer
- No subscription at all: the FlightScope Mevo Gen 2, the Square Golf Home Edition and OMNI, the ProTee VX and the GolfJoy Spica 3. Their makers charge no yearly fee for the data or their own software.
- Free data, paid courses: Garmin, Foresight, Bushnell, Uneekor and SkyTrak give the data with no plan; course play and third-party software such as GSPro need one, except on Foresight units with an older FSX license.
- A plan for the full data: the Rapsodo MLM2PRO and MLM2XPRO show 11 figures with no plan and all 15 with Core, $199.99 a year.
- Software after year one: the Trackman iO comes with its first year, then $700 or $1,100 a year.
- GSPro is its own fee on every launch monitor: $250 a year from GSPro.

The makers' own list prices and plan pages, as GSV read them in October 2026, before tax and codes. ProTee sells through resellers, so its price is on the day; GolfJoy lists the Spica 3 at $3,199.
No fee at all: the units you pay for once
FlightScope Mevo Gen 2, $1,299. FlightScope's own words: "All core data parameters, firmware updates, and software fixes for the FlightScope Mevo Gen2 are completely free with no subscription required." The FS Golf app, FS Skills Challenges and a bundle of 8 E6 Connect courses come with it to keep. Club path and face angle come in the Pro Package, a one-time purchase, not a plan, and 12 more E6 Connect courses are $250 once, by FlightScope. It putts in its own app at no charge, and it is on GSPro's own list. More on the Mevo Gen 2 page.
Square Golf Home Edition, $699, and OMNI, $1,599. Neither has a subscription. Both sit beside the ball, run the Square Golf app on iOS, Android and a Windows PC, have a putting mode, and connect to GSPro through Square's own free connector, SQG GSPro Connect. The OMNI adds four cameras, any golf ball and outdoor use. Both are compared in Square Golf HE vs OMNI.
ProTee VX. ProTee says the VX has no recurring software fees, and ProTee Labs, its own software, comes with it. The VX is a ceiling unit sold through ProTee's resellers; GSV viewers can ask Jay for its price and packages. Its page: ProTee VX.
GolfJoy Spica 3. GolfJoy says the Spica 3 needs no mandatory subscription, and GolfJoy and GSPro announced a native connection on March 30, 2026. JLASCO10 takes 10% off at GolfJoy.
Free data, paid courses: Garmin, Foresight, Bushnell, Uneekor and SkyTrak
These units read the ball, and most read the club, with no plan. The plan is for course play and other software.
- Garmin R10 and R50: the driving range and practice work with no membership, in reviewers' tests of the R10. Garmin says an active Garmin Golf membership is needed for Home Tee Hero, its course play with 43,000+ courses: $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year. See the Garmin golf simulator page.
- Foresight GC2, GC3, GCQuad, QuadMAX and Falcon: Foresight+ Free gives ball data, club data on the units that read the club, and 10 sessions of history. Silver, $199 a year, adds unlimited history and the practice tools; Gold, $599 a year, adds third-party software. Course Pass is $295 a year and Course Pass Pro $595, each on top of Silver or Gold. Owners of an older perpetual Foresight license get Silver and Course Pass at no cost: see Foresight+ for license owners. More on the Foresight golf simulator page.
- Bushnell Launch Pro: it runs on Foresight+ too. With no plan it gives ball data and basic views; on a Bushnell unit, club data needs Silver. The plans are on Bushnell Launch Pro subscription.
- Uneekor: every Uneekor comes with the free Player package: ball data, club data on the models that read it, and the VIEW range. Pro, $199 a year per unit, adds third-party software and Refine with 5 courses; Champion is $399 and Ultimate $599. See the Uneekor golf simulator page.
- SkyTrak ST MAX: with no plan, the driving range and SkyTrak's contests. Essential, $99.99 a year, adds practice with no course play; course play starts at $299.99 a year. Every plan is on SkyTrak membership plans.
Rapsodo MLM2PRO and MLM2XPRO: a plan for the full data
Rapsodo's new plans cover both units. With no plan, Rapsodo's Free tier shows 11 figures and practice mode. Core, $199.99 a year, adds every figure, spin and club data among them, 30,000+ simulated courses on phone and PC, and the practice games; Studios, $399.99 a year, adds Rapsodo's 4K courses. Partner apps such as GSPro need a membership too. The MLM2XPRO costs less up front than the Mevo Gen 2, so over time the plan is what to count: see Mevo Gen 2 vs MLM2XPRO for three years of each.
Trackman iO: the first year included
The Trackman iO comes with its first year of software. After that, Home is $700 a year and Home Complete $1,100 a year. Trackman is not on GSPro's list; it runs its own software. See the Trackman golf simulator page.
GSPro with no maker plan
GSPro is sold by GSPro at $250 a year, on every launch monitor. What changes is whether the maker asks for its own plan on top. From GSPro's list and the makers' pages:
| Launch monitor | Maker's plan for GSPro | A year with GSPro |
|---|---|---|
| Mevo Gen 2 | None | $250 |
| Square Golf HE and OMNI | None | $250 |
| Garmin R10 and R50 | None named | $250 |
| ProTee VX and GolfJoy Spica 3 | None | $250 |
| Rapsodo MLM2PRO and MLM2XPRO | Core, $199.99 | $449.99 |
| Uneekor | Pro, $199 | $449 |
| Foresight GC3, GCQuad, QuadMAX, Falcon | Gold, $599, or an older FSX license | $849, or $250 with the license |
| Bushnell Launch Pro | Gold, $599 | $849 |
SkyTrak and Trackman are not on GSPro's list, and Foresight's GSPro page leaves out the GC2. Every unit and how it connects is on GSPro compatible launch monitors, and GSPro itself on the GSPro guide.
Simulator software with no fee is here too. Muni Golf is free to download and play, by its developer, and in Jay's first look it took a Square Golf OMNI's shots through its own built-in connector, so that pair costs nothing each year. See Muni Golf, free golf simulator software.

Launch monitor subscription questions
Which launch monitors have no subscription?
The FlightScope Mevo Gen 2, the Square Golf Home Edition and OMNI, the ProTee VX and the GolfJoy Spica 3. Their makers charge no yearly fee for the data or their own software. GSPro, if you want it, is $250 a year from GSPro on any of them.
Does the Mevo Gen 2 need a subscription?
No. FlightScope says all core data, firmware updates and software fixes are free with no subscription, and the FS Golf app, FS Skills Challenges and 8 E6 Connect courses come with it to keep. Club path and face angle come in the Pro Package, a one-time purchase.
Does the Garmin R10 need a subscription?
Not for the range. The driving range and practice work with no membership, in reviewers' tests of the R10. Garmin says an active Garmin Golf membership, $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year, is needed for Home Tee Hero course play. GSPro connects with no Garmin plan.
Does the Rapsodo MLM2PRO or MLM2XPRO work without a subscription?
Yes, with less data. Rapsodo's Free tier shows 11 figures and practice mode. Core, $199.99 a year, adds every figure, spin and club data among them, 30,000+ simulated courses and partner apps such as GSPro. Studios, $399.99 a year, adds the 4K courses.
Does a Foresight or Bushnell Launch Pro need a subscription?
Not to work. Foresight+ Free gives ball data, club data on Foresight units that read the club, and 10 sessions of history. Silver is $199 a year, Gold $599 a year with GSPro access, and Course Pass $295 a year. On a Launch Pro, club data needs Silver.
Does Uneekor charge a subscription?
Not for the data. Every Uneekor comes with the free Player package: ball data, club data on the models that read it, and the VIEW range. Pro, $199 a year per unit, adds third-party software such as GSPro and 5 courses.
What is the cheapest way to play GSPro?
A launch monitor whose maker asks for no plan: the Mevo Gen 2, a Square Golf, a Garmin R10 or R50, the ProTee VX or the GolfJoy Spica 3. Then GSPro's $250 a year is the only fee. A Rapsodo or Uneekor adds about $200 a year, and a new Foresight unit $599 for Gold.
Is there a discount code for a launch monitor with no subscription?
Yes. GSVMEVO takes 5% off the Mevo Gen 2 at FlightScope, GSVSQUARE takes 5% off a Square Golf at Square Golf, and GSV5OFF takes 5% off a first order at Shop Indoor Golf, which sells the Garmin units. Every code is on the golf simulator discount codes page.
Is there free help choosing a launch monitor?
Yes. GSV's partner builders, master builders Jay hand-picked, offer a free consultation: they check that the launch monitor, the room and the screen fit before you buy, and offer package deals, DIY packages and full installation.
