The FlightScope Mevo Gen 2 and the Rapsodo MLM2XPRO are the two launch monitors golfers most often weigh for a first simulator that also putts. Both sit on the floor behind the ball, both play GSPro, and both read putts. They split on cost. The Mevo Gen 2 is $1,299 with no yearly fee for its data. The MLM2XPRO is $899.99, and most of what it does needs a Rapsodo membership, from $199.99 a year. Jay Lasco, host of Golf Simulator Videos, has filmed the Mevo Gen 2 since its release in 2025 and the MLM2XPRO since it arrived in October 2026, putting both in GSPro. Below: price and what you pay each year, the data, marked balls, hitting zones, the room each needs, putting, software, GSPro and other connections, and which to buy.
Codes first: GSVMEVO takes 5% off the Mevo Gen 2 and its add-ons at FlightScope: a $1,299 Mevo Gen 2 came to $1,234.05 at GSV's checkout. GSV5OFF takes 5% off a first order at Shop Indoor Golf, where the MLM2XPRO came to $855.00 from $899.99 at GSV's checkout.

The short answer
- Mevo Gen 2: for the golfer who wants to pay once. Its 20 ball and club figures, firmware, the FS Golf app and 8 E6 Connect courses come with it, with no subscription; club path and face angle are a one-time add-on, the Pro Package. It putts in its own app at no charge, works anywhere with no internet, and is on GSPro's own list.
- MLM2XPRO: for the golfer who wants the lower price up front and Rapsodo's own simulation: more than 30,000 courses with putting, and 4K courses with Studios. It measures club path with Core, shows a shot twice as fast as the MLM2PRO, Rapsodo told GSV,, and has a screen and a tilt for leveling. Its full data, courses, putting and GSPro connection need a Rapsodo membership each year.
- Over three years with GSPro, they are within about $200 of each other. The difference is when you pay.

Price, subscriptions and cost over three years
Mevo Gen 2: pay once. FlightScope: "All core data parameters, firmware updates, and software fixes for the FlightScope Mevo Gen2 are completely free", with no subscription. The FS Golf app, FS Skills Challenges and an E6 Connect bundle of 8 courses on iOS and PC come with it. The two add-ons are one-time purchases tied to the unit: the Pro Package, $1,000, and Face Impact Location, $499, by FlightScope's list prices, and GSVMEVO takes 5% off them too.
MLM2XPRO: pay less up front, then each year. Without a membership, the free tier gives 11 figures, practice mode and swing video. Core, $199.99 a year, gives all 15 figures, Rapsodo's 30,000+ courses with putting, swing replay and Impact Vision, and the PC app. Studios, $399.99 a year, adds Rapsodo's 4K courses. The unit comes with a 21-day Core trial, which Rapsodo says renews at $199.99 a year.
| Three years, list prices | Mevo Gen 2 | MLM2XPRO with Core |
|---|---|---|
| The unit and its own software | $1,299 | $1,499.96 |
| Plus GSPro, $250 a year | $2,049 | $2,249.96 |
| Plus club path and face (Pro Package) | $3,049 | Club path already in Core |
The MLM2XPRO line is $899.99 plus three years of Core. With Studios instead, add $600 over three years. Before codes, tax and shipping.
The data
Mevo Gen 2. FlightScope lists 20 parameters. With no add-on, a full swing gives carry, roll, total distance, ball speed, club speed, smash factor, vertical and horizontal launch angle, spin rate, spin axis, apex height, flight time, lateral landing, angle of attack, spin loft, shot type and dispersion. The Pro Package adds 11, among them club path, face to path, face to target, dynamic loft, swing plane and low point. Face Impact Location adds where the ball met the face, and needs a well-lit hitting area, 300 lux by FlightScope. FlightScope does not split measured from calculated figures.
MLM2XPRO. Rapsodo does: measured are ball speed, launch angle, launch direction, club speed, attack angle and club path, plus spin rate and spin axis with an RPT ball; calculated from those are smash factor, carry, total distance, apex, descent angle and side carry. The free tier shows 11 figures and Core all 15. There is no face angle, and no face impact figure; Impact Vision is a video of impact.
So for club data: the MLM2XPRO gives club path with a $199.99 a year membership; the Mevo Gen 2 gives path and face, the fuller set, for a one-time $1,000.
Marked balls and spin indoors
Indoors a radar sees only a few feet of flight, too little to read spin from, so both ask for a ball it can track:
- Mevo Gen 2: "Aluminum stickers or Titleist RCT balls required for accurate spin measurements", by FlightScope. 100 stickers come in the box, and more are $45. A Titleist RCT ball works too, and Jay hits RCT balls with it in the GSV studio.
- MLM2XPRO: any ball gives ball speed, launch and carry; "for measured spin rate and spin axis, use an RPT ball indoors", by Rapsodo. A dozen come in the box: Titleist Pro V1 or Callaway Chrome Tour RPT. More are $69.99 a dozen, sold only by Rapsodo.
Outdoors, neither needs them: the radar follows the ball.
Hitting zone and setup
Neither maker publishes the size of its hitting zone. Both sit in line behind the ball and show you where to put it:
- Mevo Gen 2: 7 to 9 ft directly behind the ball, in line with its camera, on its kickstand. Since a June 2026 software update, it warns when the ball is out of range and when the flight mode is set wrong.
- MLM2XPRO: 7 1/2 ft behind the ball on its tripod. The alignment screen shows the camera view with an orange hitting area, and Rapsodo says to put the ball inside it for club data; the screen on the unit shows when it is level, and setup will not go on until it is.
Both work for right and left-handed golfers from the same spot behind the ball. For a step-by-step setup, see how to set up the Mevo Gen 2 indoors and the MLM2XPRO review.
The room each needs
Both sit behind the golfer, so both add depth to the room. FlightScope puts the Mevo Gen 2's indoor minimum at 16 ft: 8 ft behind the ball and 8 ft of flight. Rapsodo puts the MLM2XPRO at 7 1/2 ft behind the ball and at least 8 ft to the net, "a little more than 15 feet in total". Jay's own minimum for the Mevo Gen 2 is 7 ft behind the ball and 8 ft to the screen, with 10 ft to the screen the ideal.
| GSV Sim Builder, 14 ft wide, 10 ft ceiling | Mevo Gen 2 | MLM2XPRO |
|---|---|---|
| Shortest room that fits | 16 ft 6 in deep | 16 ft deep |
| With nothing to watch | 17 ft 6 in deep | 17 ft deep |
For a 5 ft 9 in golfer. The ceiling has to clear the swing, about 9 ft with a driver for most golfers. Lay out your own room in the GSV Sim Builder or check it in the room size checker.
Putting
Both read putts, which the Garmin R10 and the MLM2PRO do not.
- Mevo Gen 2: putting is a session in FS Golf at no charge, with launch speed, total distance and ball direction. FlightScope moves the unit up to 5 ft behind the ball, with at least 8 ft of flat roll. In GSPro, in Jay's first look, it read putts down to a ball speed of 2.5 mph and caught small pushes off the face. Jay credits the camera sitting higher on the Gen 2 than on the Mevo+ for how well it reads putts.
- MLM2XPRO: putting is new for Rapsodo: putting in its simulation on all 30,000+ courses with Core. In GSPro, in Jay's test on October 19, 2026, it read launch direction to tenths of a degree, from 0.2 deg pushes and pulls up to 1.7 deg, and read putts down to about 2 ft of roll, at 1.5 to 1.6 mph. The putter has to be selected in GSPro.
Neither maker says its putts carry into GSPro, but both did in Jay's tests. They were separate tests, not side by side, so the softest putt each read is not a head-to-head result. The full MLM2XPRO test is in the MLM2XPRO in GSPro, putting and chipping, and every launch monitor that putts is in the putting simulators for home guide.
The software that comes with each
- Mevo Gen 2: FS Golf, FlightScope's practice app with the shot tracer, on iOS 18 or newer, Android 14 or newer and Windows; FS Skills Challenges on iOS and Android; and the 8-course E6 Connect bundle on iOS and PC: Kiawah Ocean Course, Torrey Pines South, Kapalua Plantation, Valderrama, Sea Island Seaside, Pelican Hill, Chateau Whistler and Latrobe Country Club. The Mevo Gen 2 makes its own Wi-Fi network, so it needs no internet, at home or at the range.
- MLM2XPRO: the new Rapsodo Golf app on iOS and Android, free (the old MLM2PRO app does not work with it), and Rapsodo's PC app; with Core, Rapsodo's 30,000+ courses with putting; with Studios, the 4K courses, 25 at launch by Rapsodo, among them Bethpage Black.
Neither lists a Mac app.

What Jay found with each
GSV has not yet filmed the two side by side, so these are separate tests.
- Mevo Gen 2 first look (2025), on GSPro: set just over 7 ft behind the ball with just over 10 ft to the screen and RCT balls. Wedge spin rose from about 8,000 to 10,000 rpm as he cut the ball, 7-iron cuts and draws read with the right shape, and high flops, short chips and bump and runs all read.
- Mevo Gen 2 Pro Package and Face Impact Location (2025): Jay checked Face Impact Location against foot spray on the club face.
- MLM2XPRO review (October 2026): unboxing, the new PC app and 4K courses, chipping and putting in Rapsodo's simulation. Lag putts and launch direction read well; very soft short putts read differently from how far they rolled.
- MLM2XPRO in GSPro (October 19, 2026): putts from 3 to 40 ft, chips at Shadow Ridge, bump and runs, 7 and 8 iron chips, short chips from the rough carrying 8 to 9 ft and bunker shots, all read; the faster shot processing showed.
Which to buy
- You should buy the Mevo Gen 2 if you want nothing to pay each year for the data, putting in its own app at no charge, stickers or Titleist RCT balls for spin, a path to the full club data with a one-time add-on, GSPro's own listing, and a unit that runs with no internet at the range.
- You should buy the MLM2XPRO if you want the lower price today and plan to keep a Rapsodo membership: it brings 30,000+ courses with putting, club path, a faster shot to the screen, the screen and tilt for leveling, and Rapsodo's 4K courses with Studios.
- For GSPro either way: both played GSPro and putted in it in Jay's tests. On the MLM2XPRO, keep a membership for the connection.
Other comparisons: MLM2XPRO vs MLM2PRO, Mevo Gen 2 vs Garmin R10 and Mevo Gen 2 vs Mevo+. Every pick at this price is in the best launch monitors under $1,000, and every use in the best golf launch monitors. GSV's codes: Mevo Gen 2 discount code and Rapsodo discount code.

It depends how you want to pay. The Mevo Gen 2 is $1,299 with no yearly fee for its data, putting in its own app and 8 E6 Connect courses to keep. The MLM2XPRO is $899.99, and its full data, 30,000+ courses with putting and GSPro connection need a Rapsodo membership, from $199.99 a year. Over three years with GSPro they are within about $200 of each other. GSV has not tested them side by side.
Do the Mevo Gen 2 and the MLM2XPRO putt in GSPro?
Both did in Jay's tests, though neither maker says its putts carry into GSPro. The Mevo Gen 2 read putts down to 2.5 mph in Jay's first look; the MLM2XPRO read putts down to about 2 ft of roll and launch direction to tenths of a degree, with the putter selected in GSPro.
Does the MLM2XPRO need a subscription?
For most of what it does, yes. The free tier shows 11 figures. Indoors, for spin. The Mevo Gen 2 needs aluminum stickers, 100 in the box, or Titleist RCT balls. The MLM2XPRO needs RPT balls for measured spin, 12 in the box and $69.99 a dozen from Rapsodo. Outdoors neither needs them.
Which needs less room, the Mevo Gen 2 or the MLM2XPRO?
The MLM2XPRO, a little. In the GSV Sim Builder, a room 14 ft wide with a 10 ft ceiling fits the MLM2XPRO from 16 ft deep and the Mevo Gen 2 from 16 ft 6 in, and with nothing to watch, 17 ft and 17 ft 6 in.
Which gives club path and face angle?
The Mevo Gen 2 gives club path, face to path and face to target with the Pro Package, $1,000 one time. The MLM2XPRO measures club path with a Core membership and gives no face angle.
What software comes with each?
The Mevo Gen 2 comes with FS Golf, FS Skills Challenges and 8 E6 Connect courses to keep. The MLM2XPRO comes with the Rapsodo Golf app and the PC app; its 30,000+ courses with putting come with Core, and its 4K courses with Studios.
