Trackman iO Review 2026: Price, Software, Ceiling Height and Tests

The Trackman iO is Trackman's ceiling launch monitor for a home simulator: it hangs just ahead of the ball, reads it with radar and a high-speed camera, and needs no marked balls and no club stickers. Trackman lists it from $13,995, and its software is a yearly plan, $700 for Home or $1,100 for Home Complete after the first year. This review covers what it costs over three years, what it measures today, the ceiling and room it needs, the software, what GSV found filming it since its launch in 2023, and who should buy one. Jay Lasco, host of Golf Simulator Videos, has had an iO in GSV's basement studio since September 2023, next to the Uneekor EYE XO2.

Buying: GSV5OFF's terms exclude a Trackman on its own. On a complete Trackman simulator package, GSV250 takes $250 off at Shop Indoor Golf.

The verdict

  • What it does well: ball data that Trackman says matches the Trackman 4, measured spin and spin axis with no marked balls, club data with no stickers on the club, an impact video Jay calls one of his favorite features, and a mount that works under a ceiling from 8 ft 10 in.
  • What to plan for: the yearly software, Trackman's own software only (GSPro does not list the iO), the full club data only on Home Complete, no angle of attack for irons yet, and a 24 in wide zone, narrower than the EYE XO2's 28 in.
  • Who it is for: a golfer building a room around Trackman's Virtual Golf courses, tournaments and practice modes, who wants nothing on the floor behind the ball.

Price and three years of software

Trackman lists the iO from $13,995 and sells it through dealers. Each edition comes with its first year of software, by the dealer page the Trackman guide read on October 8, 2026, and Trackman's own Tech Package listing gives Home at $700 a year after the first year. Trackman publishes no price for a new iO with Home Complete. To move an iO already on Home up to Home Complete later, Trackman lists $10,500 one time, with the higher yearly plan after that.

Three years, two renewals at $700$15,395
Five years, four renewals at $700$16,795

No enclosure, screen, projector or PC is in these totals. The Trackman guide gives the dealer's Home Complete figures and the cost of a full Trackman 4 setup.

The yearly prices and what each plan includes are Trackman's help center, updated June 22, 2026 and read October 19, 2026. The course count and club data split are Trackman's iO page as GSV read it on October 8, 2026. Both plans run on the same iO; the difference is the software.

What it measures

Trackman says the iO “combines radar, infrared and high-speed imaging” for real ball and club data, including measured 3D spin and spin axis. Trackman's head of indoor told Jay the large camera does the vision tracking, the radar does what radar does best, such as ball speed and flight, and the ball data is the same as on a Trackman 4. A small webcam faces the screen to line the unit up with it.

The iO launched with ball data only, and GSV filmed its club data as it arrived:

  • January 2024: club speed, smash factor, club path and face to path, with no stickers.
  • October 2025: angle of attack for woods and hybrids. Trackman says attack angle for irons is not released yet because it does not meet its accuracy standards.

On Home the club data is club speed. Home Complete shows all 9 club figures.

Ceiling and room

Trackman calibrates the iO for one of three heights, measured from the turf to the ceiling, by its height guide, updated September 19, 2025:

CalibrationTurf to ceilingVersions
Low8 ft 10 in to 9 ft 6 inStandard iO only
Mid9 ft 4 in to 10 ftiO and iO DUO
High9 ft 10 in to 10 ft 6 iniO and iO DUO

Trackman's iO page sets no minimum distance in front of or behind the ball, and says the iO DUO lets right and left-handed golfers share bays as narrow as 10 ft. Trackman's setup guide, as the Trackman guide gives it, asks for a tee area at least 6 ft deep and 5 ft wide and puts the tee at least 8 ft 2 in from the screen, 10 ft recommended.

Open the Trackman iO in the GSV Sim Builder, check your room in the room size checker, or see the low ceiling guide under 9 ft.

Setup

The iO hangs from a ceiling bracket with the center of the mount 3 ft 4 in from the tee, as GSV's iO videos give it. In the first look, the mounting spot was found with a tee marker, the calibration board and a flashlight shining up at the ceiling, and Trackman's head of indoor compared the install to flat-pack furniture. The webcam facing the screen lines up the target. No extra lighting is needed, by Trackman.

What Jay found, since 2023

  • First look, September 2023: filmed days before launch. An 8-iron read about 7,000 rpm, the impact video showed the club coming from the inside and a strike toward the heel, a chip about 12 in off center read, a flop with the face laid flat read, and putts from 8 ft down to a 2 ft tap read. In 2023 the impact video could not be replayed inside a Virtual Golf round, and Jay asked Trackman for it.
  • Club path and club speed, January 2024: the update brought club speed, smash factor, club path and face to path to the iO, with no stickers.
  • Home vs Complete, 2024: the two plans on the same unit, and what each adds.
  • Angle of attack, October 2025: a driver session with angle of attack for woods and hybrids and the Optimizer.
  • Rounds and courses: nine holes at Abu Dhabi Golf Club and the 2026 Brocket Hall course.

The write-ups: first look, driver and club data, club path and club speed, Home vs Complete, angle of attack and Brocket Hall.

PC and other software

The iO runs Trackman's own software, on Home or Home Complete. GSPro does not list the Trackman iO. Trackman lists an RTX 4070 Ti, 4070 Ti Super or 5070 Ti, 32GB of memory, Windows 11 and an Intel processor, as GSV's best computer for a golf simulator guide gives it. For GSPro under a ceiling mount, see GSPro compatible launch monitors.

Who should buy a Trackman iO

  • Buy it for Trackman's Virtual Golf courses, tournaments and practice modes, a ceiling from 8 ft 10 in, nothing behind the golfer, and club data with no stickers. Home plays and practices; Home Complete adds the full club data, Shot Analysis and the Performance Center.
  • Look elsewhere for GSPro or other third-party software, the lowest yearly cost, or a wider zone for golfers of both hands. EYE XO2 vs Trackman iO sets the two ceiling units in GSV's studio side by side, and the best overhead launch monitors guide adds the ProTee VX, Foresight Falcon and others.

Free consultation with GSV's partner builders

A Trackman iO room is worth planning before you buy: the ceiling height decides how it is calibrated, and the mount sits a set distance from the tee. Jay works with official partners: master builders he hand-picked, who get on a call quickly and make sure the ceiling, the mounting spot, the screen and the PC fit before you buy anything. They offer package deals on the whole build, DIY packages, full installation, and more. The consultation is free.

Trackman iO questions

How much does a Trackman iO cost?

Trackman lists the iO from $13,995, read October 19, 2026, with its first year of software. After that, Home is $700 a year and Home Complete $1,100 a year. At list price, three years on Home come to $15,395. An enclosure, a screen, a projector and a PC are on top.

Does the Trackman iO need a subscription?

Yes. The software is a yearly plan: Home at $700 or Home Complete at $1,100, by Trackman's help center. The iO comes with its first year. To move from Home to Home Complete later, Trackman lists $10,500 one time.

What is the difference between Home and Home Complete?

Home has a fixed set of courses, 3 games, club speed, the range, target and on-course practice and online play. Home Complete adds all courses and games, all 9 club figures, Shot Analysis and the Performance Center. Both run on the same iO.

What ceiling height does a Trackman iO need?

Trackman calibrates it for one of three heights from the turf to the ceiling: Low, 8 ft 10 in to 9 ft 6 in, on the standard iO only; Mid, 9 ft 4 in to 10 ft; and High, 9 ft 10 in to 10 ft 6 in. In the GSV Sim Builder it needs a 9 ft ceiling with nothing to watch.

How big a room does a Trackman iO need?

In the GSV Sim Builder, a room 14 ft wide with a 10 ft ceiling fits an iO from 15 ft 1 in deep, and from 17 ft deep with nothing to watch. Trackman puts the tee at least 8 ft 2 in from the screen, 10 ft recommended.

Does the Trackman iO need marked balls or club stickers?

No. Trackman says it measures 3D spin and spin axis with radar, infrared and high-speed imaging, and its club data needs no stickers on the club.

Does the Trackman iO work with GSPro?

GSPro does not list the Trackman iO. It runs Trackman's own software on Home or Home Complete. For GSPro under a ceiling mount, the Uneekor EYE XO2 runs it with Uneekor's Pro membership.

Is there a Trackman iO discount code?

GSV5OFF's terms exclude a Trackman on its own. On a complete Trackman simulator package, GSV250 takes $250 off at Shop Indoor Golf.

Is there free help planning a Trackman iO room?

Yes. GSV's partner builders, master builders Jay hand-picked, offer a free consultation: they check the ceiling, the mounting spot, the screen and the PC before you buy, and offer package deals, DIY packages and full installation.
