What the video covers

Jay runs the Square Golf through GSPro for this test. At the time of the video, Square Golf connected to GSPro through a separate connection app.

• Chipping: Jay hits various types of chips to see how the Square Golf reads short shots in GSPro.
• Putting: a full putting test, including putts as short as 1 ft.
• How it measures: high-speed cameras and machine vision, with built-in infrared LED lighting.
• Ball data: ball speed, direction, launch angle, spin rate, apex, carry, run and total distance.
• Club data: swing path, face angle, dynamic loft and angle of attack.
• Setup: the unit sits on flat ground at the same height as the ball, with the ball in a set hitting area in front of it and to the right. It is for indoor use only and should be kept out of direct sunlight, which can affect its readings.
• In the box: the launch monitor, a swing stick, a removable lithium-ion battery rated for 8 hours, a remote control and three dotted Square Golf balls. It connects over Bluetooth to a phone, tablet, laptop or PC.

Where this stands now

This video is from 2024. The Square Golf's current price, GSV's test results and the room it needs are in the Square Golf review, and the launch monitors and greens that read putts at home are compared in putting simulators for home.

The GSV Sim Builder places a launch monitor in your room at its real distance, with the screen, the mat and the golfer, and checks the fit.
