Best Indoor Putting Greens and Putting Mats 2026, for Home and Simulator Rooms

An indoor putting green can be a $160 roll-out mat, a $1,000 to $3,000 green on a modular base, a simulator floor with cups built in, or a projected green like PuttView that shows the line on real contours. Jay Lasco, host of Golf Simulator Videos, has putted on a PuttView P7 Plus at home since 2020, tested putting mats and camera putting simulators on video, and plans putting into simulator rooms with GSV's partner builders. This guide picks the best indoor putting greens and mats by budget and room, with the speed (stimp) each one rolls, the makers' prices, and how to fit a green into a golf simulator room.

Codes first: GSV5OFF takes 5% off a first order at Shop Indoor Golf, which sells most of the greens here, among them SIGPRO, Fiberbuilt, Big Moss and Perfect Practice, and GSV250 takes $250 off SIGPRO Golf Simulator Flooring. Shop Indoor Golf takes one code per order. PuttView pricing and discounts for GSV viewers come through Jay: ask before you order. Every code is on the golf simulator discount codes page.

Best for a golf simulator room: putting built into the floor

In a simulator room the floor is already turf, so the green can be the floor. SIGPRO Golf Simulator Flooring is made for SIG8, SIG10 and SIG12 enclosures: 2 in interlocking panels under 3/8 in putting turf that rolls between 9 and 10 on the stimpmeter, with 4 cups and a swappable hitting strip let into the floor that takes a real tee. A foam undulation kit adds break.

SIGPRO platform greens: stimp 10 with break

SIGPRO's greens are premium putting turf on interlocking polymer tiles, 2.5 in tall, all rolling at stimp 10 by Shop Indoor Golf. Break comes from SIGPRO's foam undulation kit under the tiles.

Fiberbuilt putting greens: stimp 9 on a rubber base

Fiberbuilt builds its greens on the same modular rubber foundation as its hitting mats, with metal cups, rolling at stimp 9 by Fiberbuilt. Fiberbuilt asks for a firm, level surface underneath. Its combo mats add a hitting area beside the green.

Roll-out greens: Big Moss

Big Moss greens roll out onto the floor with Break Pads, foam inserts that go under the surface to make the putt break, and the Augusta and Country Club models have rubber backing that lies flat even over carpet, by Shop Indoor Golf. The Commander is the outdoor-rated model, at stimp 11. Shop Indoor Golf sells the Augusta 4 x 12 ft, the Country Club 6 x 12 ft and the Commander, 2 to 6 ft wide and 15 ft long. Big Moss's own site could not be read for its list prices, so the price on the day is Shop Indoor Golf's, with GSV5OFF on a first order.

The best putting mats under $200

  • Perfect Practice putting mat: a mat about 9 ft long with two hole sizes and a ball return. Perfect Practice says it rolls 10 to 14 on the stimpmeter: about 14 on a hard floor and about 10 on thick carpet.
  • SIG LITE indoor putting green, $159.99: a 4 x 10 ft roll-up green with two holes and adjustable hole caps, Shop Indoor Golf's own.
  • BirdieBall RollTech, $99.99 to $464.99 by BirdieBall: 2 to 4 ft wide and 10 to 30 ft long, in three speeds (stimp 9 to 10, 10 to 11 or 11 to 13), for indoors, with shims for break.
  • WellPutt, $89 to $475 by WellPutt: mats from 8 to 26 ft with printed aiming and speed drills. Jay set one up with a FlightScope launch monitor in 2020.
  • PuttOUT: putting mats, and a pressure putt trainer: a made putt rolls up the ramp and back, and only a perfectly paced putt stays in the small target.

PuttView: a real green with the line projected on it

PuttView is a real, contoured green with real cups, with a projector and a camera above it that show the line, the pace and games on the surface. PuttView's own shop lists the P7 at $14,579 and the P7 Plus at $17,729, shipping included, for its 10 ft home green, which needs a 7 ft ceiling. Jay has had a P7 Plus at home since 2020, and in September 2026 connected his Foresight simulator and FSX Play to it, so the putts from the simulator's course are played on the real green.

PuttView pricing for GSV viewers

Every PuttView model and price is on GSV's PuttView cost page. Camera putting simulators such as the ExPutt RG, and launch monitors that putt, are compared in putting simulator for home.

Green speed and break

Speed is measured on the stimpmeter: the higher the number, the faster the green. Most home greens are rated stimp 9 to 11 by their makers.

PuttViewReal contoursBuilt into the green
  • The floor changes the speed. A mat on a hard floor rolls faster than the same mat on carpet, by Perfect Practice's own figures.
  • Match the software to the turf. Simulator software such as GSPro sets the green speed for its putts; set it close to what the real green rolls if you putt on both.

What size putting green you need

Shop Indoor Golf's guide puts it simply: a green 3 or 4 ft wide and 8 to 12 ft long fits most spare rooms and offices, and 6 x 10 ft to 6 x 15 ft gives more angles and room to chip. Leave room behind the ball for the putter and the stance, and measure the longest putt you want: a 10 ft green gives putts of about 8 or 9 ft.

Putting in a golf simulator room

There are three ways to putt in a simulator room, and they work together:

  1. Putt on the simulator. Most launch monitors putt through the simulator software on the turf in front of the screen. Some do it better than others: the Rapsodo MLM2XPRO added putting, Foresight's GCQuad has putting analysis, and GSV tested the Garmin R50's putting on video.
  2. Make the floor a green. SIGPRO flooring, or putting turf over the whole enclosure floor, lets you putt and chip to real cups between shots.
  3. Add a green beside the bay. A Fiberbuilt, SIGPRO or Big Moss green along a wall, or a PuttView green in the same room, as Jay has at home.

The GSV Sim Builder lays out the room with the enclosure, the mat, the turf and the launch monitor at real size, so you can see what floor is left for a green before buying it. The room size calculator checks the room for every launch monitor, and how to build a golf simulator at home walks through the whole build.

What stimp speed should a home putting green be?

How big should an indoor putting green be?

A green 3 or 4 ft wide and 8 to 12 ft long fits most spare rooms and offices; 6 x 10 ft to 6 x 15 ft gives more angles and room to chip. A 10 ft green gives putts of about 8 or 9 ft.

How much does PuttView cost?

PuttView's own shop lists the P7 at $14,579 and the P7 Plus at $17,729, shipping included, for its 10 ft home green. GSV viewers get special PuttView pricing and discounts through Jay: ask before you order.

How do you add break to an indoor putting green?

With what goes under it: SIGPRO's foam undulation kit under its tiles, Big Moss Break Pads under the turf, or BirdieBall's shims. A PuttView green has its contours built in.

Is there a discount code for putting greens?

Yes. GSV5OFF takes 5% off a first order at Shop Indoor Golf, which sells SIGPRO, Fiberbuilt, Big Moss and Perfect Practice greens, and GSV250 takes $250 off SIGPRO Golf Simulator Flooring; Shop Indoor Golf takes one code per order. PuttView pricing for GSV viewers comes through Jay.
