What the video covers
At the time of this January 2025 video, the 5.2 update had added on-course practice, altitude, lie penalties and match play to its software, among other changes. Jay walks through the update in about 15 minutes, and his title sums up his view: the update is a big step for practice.
- On-course practice: practice on a course inside the SkyTrak software.
- Altitude and lie penalties: two additions that bring course conditions into play.
- Match play: a head-to-head format.
The description also sets out SkyTrak Course Play as SkyTrak presented it at the time:
- Courses: 30 courses, played inside the SkyTrak app.
- No third-party software: course play without downloading other simulator software.
- Graphics and ball reaction: SkyTrak describes detailed fairways, greens, water hazards, bunkers and trees, and a ball that reacts as it would on a real course.
The video has no chapters and the description gives no settings or test numbers, so the video itself is the place to see each feature on screen.
