What the video covers
Jay plays the 18 holes of Cypress Point, along the ocean, in the PGA Tour tournament round for the SGT Tour (the Simulator Golf Tour), the online tour played in GSPro. The video opens with an intro to GSPro and the round, then gives each hole its own chapter, so any hole can be found from the chapter list below.
- The front nine: the round starts well, and Jay is in good shape as he makes the turn.
- The 16th: the long par 3 16th gets the better of him.
- The finish: he grinds back to finish the round at plus 1, and minus 3 overall for his two tournament rounds.
The description of the video also describes GSPro as it stood at the time: a simulator built on the Unity game engine with 4K graphics, its own ball physics, and a large community that builds courses with the OPCS tools and plays on the SGT Online Tour. At the time, GSPro itself came with no courses: the courses were made by that community. At the time of the video, GSPro listed a Windows PC with at least a GTX 1070 or RX 580 graphics card, 4GB of storage space and a stable internet connection, plus an Ethernet port or Bluetooth depending on the launch monitor.
Where this stands now
This video is from 2021. GSPro's current licenses, PC needs and courses are in the GSPro guide, and the launch monitors that connect to it are in GSPro compatible launch monitors.
The GSV Sim Builder places a launch monitor in your room at its real distance, with the screen, the mat and the golfer, and checks the fit.
