Jay’s Thoughts

This is exciting information coming from Garmin. Previously as they stated in documentation using a metal dot or tracking ball would actually hurt spin accuracy. Clearly they have found a way to integrate this now with their radar and hopefully it give a high level of spin accuracy indoors which everyone surely would love to see.

Now, keep in mind we are talking about backspin, no spin axis. Even high end units like Trackman 4 that are using the RCT ball are only using it to increase backspin readings, not side spin. So the Garmin R10 might still have a little difficulties with gear effect like we have explained in the past. With no way of knowing a driver shot was hit off the toe and not measuring spin axis the Garmin R10 most likely will still have a larger margin of error for spin axis. I think as long as everyone is aware of this there is not issue with that. After all we are talking about a $599 unit that provides some solid data based on our testing. Stay tuned for a new video coming soon where we will put the new RCT capabilities to the test!

Thanks for Watching!
